Translational from the vehicle:
v1= [22, 0]
Tangential form the broom:
v2 = [47.1*cos45, 47.1*sin45] = [33.3, 33.3]
v_total = v1+v2 = [55.3, 33.3]
distance= 2*vx * vy / g = ?
@1a1n1d1y The truck can't tilt upwards, its 22ft/s don't get directly added to the 47ft/s exit velocity at 45deg. These two velocities are vectors, you can't just add them as if they were scalars. Yet you did exactly that. This is literally a intro to physics level mistake.

@1a1n1d1y Yeah buddy your BS in ME from a decade ago is really impressive. I have one as well and then some. Here's the actual answer to the question. As well as the actual answer with correct math if you use your incorrect assumption of 45deg launch angle being maximum.

vy = 47.1*sin45 = 33.3 ft/s
t = 2 * 33.3 / 32.2 = 2.07s
d = 55.3 * 2.07 = 114 ft
So the "max" range assuming no air resistance and launching at 45deg is 114 ft
Also doing all of this in imperial units is miserable
@1a1n1d1y Wait lmfao you didn't even do the math right for your own model. You added the 22ft/s translational speed to the 47.1ft/s of the rotary tip speed except you're launching at 45deg so they're different vectors and you're incorrectly adding them together like scalars.
@1a1n1d1y In the problem you specify weight. The only time where weight would ever matter is if you are also considering air resistance.
When you consider air resistance, 45deg is not the optimal launch angle, and the maximum distance is significantly lower.
@johnennis I mean a large long context window causes degradation in performance so I'd bet this is an attempt to signal that to people who are unfamiliar with how AI works but does so in a weird anthropomorphize way rather than being direct.
