Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need to focus on sustainable economic growth, job creation, and export promotion, as the country has successfully restored macroeconomic stability through a collaborative team effort.

The prime minister, in his virtual address at the Gong Ceremony, held in Karachi, to celebrate the listing of the Naya Nazimabad Apartment REIT scheme, lauded the joint efforts of the federal and provincial governments and financial institutions in steering the national economy out of severe challenges.

The prime minister was accompanied by federal ministers Attaullah Tarar, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Dr. Musadik Malik, and others. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, prominent business leader Arif Habib, and leading corporate figures attended the event which started with the cake-cutting to celebrate the occasion.

Recalling his recent interactions with international bankers and financial leaders in New York and London, including executives from Citibank, JPMorgan, and Barclays and the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, the prime minister noted that global financial institutions had commended Pakistan’s implementation of long-overdue structural reforms, creating an attractive ecosystem for investment.

He particularly thanked the finance minister, cabinet members, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and federal secretaries for establishing a replicable model of teamwork to achieve macroeconomic stability that has brought Pakistan back onto the path of sustainable development.

He said that the successful implementation of reforms and macroeconomic stability were the result of a cohesive partnership between the political hierarchy and military leadership working in complete harmony.

Highlighting key economic indicators, he pointed out that Pakistan successfully achieved a $3 billion Eurobond issuance with $6 billion in offers, while State Bank foreign exchange reserves have risen to around $21.4 billion, alongside commercial bank reserves of $5.5 billion.

He said that foreign remittances and IT exports were on an upward trajectory, while the Roshan Digital Account was performing robustly.

However, stressing the shift from stabilisation to growth, Prime Minister called for efforts to achieve economic growth driven by technology, employment generation, production, and exports to boost the national economy.

The prime minister recalled that the federal budget for 2026–27 offered hundreds of billions of rupees in tax breaks and incentives for exporters, manufacturers, and industries, including the construction sector. He said the incentives introduced by the government for the construction sector were coming to fruition.

He specifically commended the real estate and industrial initiatives spearheaded by business leaders like Arif Habib in Lahore and Karachi under the REIT structure, urging further modernisation and improvement of the stock exchange and capital markets by studying other markets in the region.

The prime minister expressed deep concern over the poor performance of certain industries having received heavy subsidies and tariff walls,and making commitments repeatedly to ensure import substitution and promote competitiveness.

He called for an honest approach prioritising national interest over personal gains, stressing that progress relied on modernised machinery, productivity, and hard work.

Prime Minister particularly appreciated Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for his steadfast support and commitment to national security and economic progress,acting as a great partner throughout the journey.

He also lauded the Chairman NAB for recovering public land worth billions of rupees and the plan to establish a land bank.

He reiterated his resolve that through such dedicated efforts and commitment, Pakistan would emerge as a powerful economy and earn fame in the comity of nations.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a series of meetings today with senior executives from leading global financial institutions — Barclays, J.P. Morgan, Citi, BlackRock and Rothschild & Co — during his visit to the United Kingdom. The engagements underscored growing international financial sector interest in Pakistan's economic reform trajectory and improving investment climate.

Meeting Mr. Mohammad Kamal Syed, Head of Private Bank and Wealth Management UK at Barclays, the Prime Minister welcomed the bank's interest in Pakistan and briefed him on the government's macroeconomic stabilization measures, encouraging Barclays to explore opportunities in the country's financial sector.

With a high-level J.P. Morgan delegation led by Mr. Matthieu Wiltz, Co-CEO for EMEA JP Morgan, the Prime Minister discussed deepening the partnership across capital markets, trade finance, and investment banking, and invited the firm to expand its footprint in Pakistan. The delegation reaffirmed its interest in sovereign debt capital markets and corporate banking opportunities.

The Prime Minister also met a group of senior officials of Citi, led by Mr. David Livingstone, Chief Client Officer. Prime Minister commended the bank's long-standing presence in Pakistan and encouraged an expansion of its corporate and institutional banking services in the country.

In a meeting with a BlackRock delegation comprising Gordon Fraser and Sam Vecht, Co-Heads of Emerging Markets and Frontiers, and Emily Fletcher, Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst, the Prime Minister invited increased allocations to Pakistani equities and fixed income within the firm's frontier markets strategy, with both sides emphasizing the importance of sustained policy consistency in building investor confidence.

In a meeting with Rothschild & Co, represented by Lord Mark Sedwill, Chair of Geostrategic Advisory and Mr. Majid Ishaq, Head of UK Investment Banking, discussions centered on Pakistan's geo-economic priorities and potential advisory collaboration on capital markets and investment strategy.
Across all engagements, the visiting executives expressed confidence in Pakistan's economic reform momentum and reaffirmed their institutions' commitment to deepening engagement with the country's financial sector.

The meetings reflect the growing traction of Pakistan's economic reform program among the world's leading financial institutions, and mark a significant step in the government's broader effort to strengthen international investor confidence and attract sustained capital flows into the country.

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Advisor to PM on Privatization and Chairman Privatization Commission Muhammad Ali were also present in the meetings.

عمران خان کی حکومت میں یہ وزیر تعلیم تھا۔ اس نے میرے خلاف کابینہ کی میٹنگ بعد عمران خان کے کہنے پہ پریس کانفرنس کی ۔ اور کہا کہ مجھے بیرون ملک سے ماہانہ 12لاکھ کیremittance آتی جو ایک حقیقت اور 30 سال آتی تھی اور میرے انکم ٹیکس ریٹرن میں ماقاعدگی کے ساتھ رپورٹ ھوتی تھی اور میں اس پہ ٹیکس دیتا تھا۔ اس الزام پہ عمران خان نے مجھ پہ آرٹیکل 6 کی کاروائی شروع کی اسکے بعد مجھ پہ نیب کی کاروائی شروع ھوئ اور پھر میں 6مہینے قید رہا۔ PTI کی حکومت کے دوران ھی ھائی کورٹ نے مجھے رہا کیا اور انکوائری اور الزامات کچھ بھی ثابت نہ ھو سکا ۔
یہ شخص پہلے PPPپھر مشرف کا وزیر پھر شہباز شریف کا درباری پھر PTi کا وزیر۔ اور اب کسی نئے مالک کی تلاش میں منتظر ۔
ضمیر اور وفا کے سوداگروں نے جتنی سیاست کی تذلیل کی ھے ۔ شاید جسم کے سوداگروں نے بھی اتنی تذلیل نہیں کمائ ھو گی۔

وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف نے آج بشکیک میں شنگھائی تعاون تنظیم (ایس سی او) کے سربراہانِ مملکت کی کونسل کے اجلاس کے موقع پر جمہوریہ بیلاروس کے صدر عالی جناب الیگزینڈر لوکاشینکو سے ملاقات کی۔ دونوں رہنماؤں نے پاکستان اور بیلاروس کے دوطرفہ تعلقات میں مثبت پیش رفت اور سیاسی، تجارتی، اقتصادی، دفاعی اور ثقافتی شعبوں میں مضبوط تعاون پر اطمینان کا ��ظہار کیا۔

دونوں رہنماؤں نے نومبر 2024 میں صدر لوکاشینکو کے تاریخی دورۂ پاکستان اور اس کے بعد اپریل 2025 میں وزیراعظم کے بیلاروس کے یادگار دورے کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے تجارت، صنعت، زراعت، انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی اور فنی تربیت کے شعبوں میں دوطرفہ تعاون مزید مستحکم کرنے پر اتفاق کیا۔ وزیراعظم نے شنگھائی تعاون تنظیم کے سربراہانِ مملکت کی کونسل کے آئندہ چیئرمین کی حیثیت سے صدرِ بیلاروس کو آئندہ سال پاکستان کا دورہ کرنے کی دوستانہ دعوت بھی دی۔

دونوں رہنماؤں نے پاکستان اور بیلاروس کے درمیان دیرینہ دوستانہ تعلقات کو نئی بلندیوں تک لے جانے کے لیے اپنے مشترکہ عزم اور پختہ ارادے کا اعادہ کیا۔
