High Incels and Low Incels

High Incels are the cerebral, melancholic types, disappointed with how the world cannot meet their need for idealized love. They write essays exploring the role of sex and romance in modern society, building theoretical frameworks for why they can't get any, wondering about the big-picture implications and reasons, and may in fact outwardly appear as surprisingly functional members of society, to the chagrin of the Low Incels who disclaim them as volcels or even fakecels.
Typical habitat: the middle classes of civilized western societies, undergraduate academia, male-dominated white collar jobs, text-heavy social media.
Many people on this app are this type.

Low Incels, arguably the earlier class to emerge, are much more concerned with questions of raw sexuality and attractiveness, and dualist Manichaean classifications of who is and is not a true incel, with as little as a friendly glance from a woman being grounds for excommunication from the most hardline sects. Unlike the High Incels, they generally do not idealize romance as such, with some even claiming they would be entirely satisfied with sex robots, institutionalized rape or mass prostitution; mental disorders such as pedophilia are not uncommon, and in exceptionally rare cases will actually escalate to violence - one so famous Low Incel is Elliot Rodger. While both sorts of Incels are prolific writers online, Low Incel writing has a very distinct ingroup-jargon-heavy voice easily recognizable to the trained eye and is generally found in shorter form media.
Typical habitat: middle schools, strongly sex-segregated third world societies, dead end workplaces, streaming websites, TikTok and adjacent apps.
Clavicular is arguably the most successful example of a Low Incel who "ascended" on this group's own terms.

Naturally, the term "incel" usually refers to Low Incels in normie use.
