Salt Lake County Clerk Lannie Chapman confirmed with me today that they are investigating after several homes in a Milcreek neighborhood reported missing ballots.
I spoke with three people who woke up last Thursday, the day after ballots arrived, to open and empty mailboxes. All three say their ballots were taken.
At least one of those residents signed up for ballot notifications and knew their ballot had been delivered.
Clerk Chapman told me:
- so far, they've confirmed a handful of people impact
- this was not an issue with the postal office
- likely a crime of opportunity
- they are still working to determine the full scope
The three people I confirmed are on East Elgin Ave. All of their mailboxes are at the end of long driveways, near the street, away from their homes.
Residents with mailboxes right next to their houses did not find their mailboxes tampered with.
It appears that someone took the mail sometime between 5 PM Wed 10/14 and 7:30 AM Thurs 10/15
If you have not received your mail-in ballot yet, contact your county clerk to have that previous ballot nullified and a replacement ballot sent out

I feel like Salt Lake City, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, BYU and Provo won HUGE today.
Ryan Smith, Steve Young, Kalani Sitake and Trevor Matich put our Gospel, people and State on display and did it with honor.
I’ve never felt more proud to be a BYU Cougar.
Nothing to see here Utah, just a little help from “we/them” to get those ballots signed. Last I checked a ballot only needs one signature, from one persons conscience. Did this change? @CoalitionUtah@BasedMikeLee@Manhattva
@1_badkarma@Dirtdog My gentleman of a son does all of the above (except Pilates) and at 5’11 has arrived at the girls apt where there’s a marker label at 6’ on the door. He’s a great conversationalist, asks questions, an excellent listener. He gets one sentence answers with no questions in return.
Dallin H. Oaks is one of the most brilliant men alive
He’s given almost 110 sermons in the past four plus decades as a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles
I’ve listened to all of them multiple times. I try to listen to one sermon of his each day.
Today he gave one of the best sermons I’ve ever heard.
I hope you’ll consider watching it — or any of his past sermons.
Decades ago he was a whisker away from being appointed to the U. S. Supreme Court
That’s how brilliant he is.
God had other plans for him.
God had a ministry for him.
Remember the Bible teaches in Amos 3:7 that “Surely the Lord God will do nothing but He revealeth His secret until His servants the prophets.”
This living prophet Dallin H. Oaks just proclaimed that new scriptures will yet come forth which show how Jesus, after His resurrection 2,000 years ago, visited His “other sheep” which were not on the fold of Jerusalem.
I have known this before. But his reminder of these future revelations moved me today. I believe discover of additional ancient scriptures may happen sooner than I used to think.
The Bible is the word of God and it proclaims the divinity of Jesus Christ.
Another book also teaches that same truth; in fact, the title page of the Book of Mormon, first published in 1829, says it is written for “the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD, manifesting himself unto all nations.”
President Oaks confirmed that God and Christ remember all people on the entire earth and that grace is literally available to all, including what the scriptures call “the heather” — all are alike unto God and He remembers them all. Salvation is not for a chosen few who were somehow pre-destined.
Grace is available to all who come unto Christ (now, or even after they die, they will have a chance to receive His gifts of grace.)
Pres. Oaks said God expects us to seek truth via the scientific method and via the spiritual method — and that ultimately all scientific and spiritual truths will be in complete harmony.
He has always sought learning by study and by faith.
I believe this explains his brilliance. He finds truth in two powerful ways — reason and revelation.
As a #Learner I have always been drawn to study ancient texts and to discover the wisdom and lessons they contain.
A living Prophet of God just said we can expect further scriptures to come forth showing how Jesus Christ, The Eternal God, remembers all people everywhere.
I can hardly wait.
Oh yes, and remember when it happens, it was foretold, by a prophet of God.
Yes, this is your Utah House Speaker @mschultz_12 taking to social media today to do a promotional video for a developer of a 15-minute city in Draper.
Yet he can't take time to respond to the dozens of emails voters in the Wasatch Back have sent expressing our real concerns about SB258, the bill he supports that strips our local elected officials of authority and gives them to developers who in many cases are also major Republican donors.
For those curious here are the bills that made this possible and gave him an opportunity to put on that used car salesman sports jacket for the photo-op:
- HB372 (the SB258 equivalent for this project giving it Governmental authority)
- HB438 $57M appropriation
- SB2 added $100M of a tax payer subsidized loan to make it $165M total for this project
- SB289 removed all potential for local zoning to have an input from neighbors or the county
- SB198 created the ability for the development authority to capture sales taxes that would otherwise go to the state and defray your tax burden
- SB166 gives tax breaks to businesses on the land
- PIDS to the tune of $244M and of course tax increment to make sure property taxes helped developers "make the numbers pencil"
- HB42, HB3, HB530 taking state money and giving it to private equity mangers who will be located in the building he's ground-breaking (yes you read that right, you're funding a new VC fund)
- $100 to $150M for this convergence point structure (in the 15-minute city itself)
Total white glove treatment for the developers to all get rich or "make the numbers pencil" as they would gaslight you into thinking.
It's so brazen, so ridiculous and he's making it clear who he represents and it's not you.
My message to @mschultz_12 is that my line is always open if you want to start a dialogue about how to help the hundred thousand people in the Wasatch Back, especially with regards to SB258 that is crushing us.
Republican socialism is so ridiculous.
Sean Reyes was pushed out because he wasn't a puppet that Cox and crew could use to weaponize the law against opponents while holding themselves immune from it.
Curious he never said a word until he recently returned from Ukraine. Now it’s a press tour if anyone that’ll entertain him.
Remember @SenJohnCurtis, when you point at someone there’s 3 fingers pointing back at yourself
Utah Sen. John Curtis said his call for a Senate inquiry into the business dealings and foreign relationships of Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden is not intended as a partisan attack, but as an effort to rebuild public trust in government.

@KUTV2News Funny how he never said a word about this concern until he returned from his visit to Ukraine…. He’s never represented Utah, only his bank account
Yesterday’s USPS worker indictment wasn’t the only problem with Utah’s 2024 mail-in ballots.
There was also a hole in the envelope in two of the largest counties that let anyone see if you voted for Deidre’s opponent. That made it easier for postal or election workers to identify how you voted and discard your ballot. I was told the hole exists so they can verify there is a ballot inside, but of all the space on that envelope, why did it have to be placed right where they can see how you voted? This was after they removed the privacy sleeve that used to be provided.
Many southern Utah voters had their ballots discarded because the mail was routed through Las Vegas. The extra delay produced late postmarks and disqualified votes even when they were mailed by the deadline.
Many were discarded because the signature did not match exactly.
Deidre dismissed these problems as affecting only a handful of voters. These events add up, and this is only what we already know. There is likely more, but she blocks every attempt at transparency, making it impossible to confirm.
I doubt Deidre would dismiss it as only a few votes if her own vote was discarded.
The excuses floating on this only legitimize insecurity of mail-in voting. We tried it. We “perfected it” in UT. Time to acknowledge it failed. Move on.
Every 1 citizen gets 1 vote.
Citizenship proof + in-person (with extenuating exceptions) are the way.
@BasedMikeLee#SAVE
I don’t understand how this is possible… Everyone from Spencer Cox & Deidre Henderson to KUTV & the Deseret News assured me that Utah’s vote-by-mail was the best and most secure election system in the country?
We would be so much better off if we replaced the entirety of our Congress with farmers, plumbers, electricians, Veterans, law enforcement and firefighters.
