I felt like I learned quite a bit about how I can look at upcoming tech and figure out how it may possibly affect and "disrupt" society as a whole. That ability is something I will take with me going forward in life.
I would say that I could be considered a content creator in the sense that make "memes" for my friends to enjoy based on things we talk about/do. Disruptive tech has helped since without it, I would not be able to make the pictures and videos I have without it.

@alex_ellias It's important to be able to distinguish the different types of disruption there is in our society, much like in your examples. Walmart didn't create a new market, but they became so dominate by charging less than their competition.
@mollard_riley@RUProfMcCormick The professor did make a point on how important the 5 criteria would be for the exam, so we best be sure not to forget them! And if it's easier for some to remember, don't forget that "scale" is interchangeable with "size".
An important topic for us to remember for our test would be digital tech in combination with social connectedness. It was from earlier in the year, so giving that topic more time to study will be invaluable.

@RUJohnScaturro I agree that this is an important aspect to remember for our test, and let's not forget to include Lepore's side into our studying! We have to be able to understand Christensen's first to see where Lepore is coming from with her arguments.
@SabrinaBurnsPro I still remember when we were younger and streaming wasn't a thing, you would have to go to some store like Best Buy and purchase CDs to play music. Music streaming really did come out of no where and I can't even recall when the shift truly occurred.
@DCIMChristine This could be quite interesting Christine! People will share things they find funny with one another and even develop jokes or sayings that come from the content they consume through social media. I feel like it has a big impact on peoples' personalities.
@ruyasmine5 I feel like this could be quite the interesting thread to unravel. Many of our youth today still find going to the mall with friends an enjoyable experience, but some may think "why do that when I can just buy stuff from my couch".
For my EDTP project, I plan on discussing the impact of VR tech. I have previous experience researching this tech, and I have learned how impactful it can be. During COVID, pre-med students were using it to learn more about the hospital layout while being remote #DCIM353McCormick
@ruyasmine5 I feel like this relates to how easy it is to share news with one another and research information now. People can gang up easily on those they don't agree with. It's shameful, you should be able to practice whatever you want without fear of harassment for doing so.
@RUBrianRivas This is a bit disheartening to hear, as there are much better platforms to get your news from, but since TikTok is arguably the primary social media for many under 30, I can also fully understand why that would be the case. It's too big not to become the dominant source of news.
@steven_tanuos I can really see how this would change people's lives, because funnily enough, the credit/debit card technology has advanced significantly in recent years. When we were kids, you could only swipe, but now you don't even need the card anymore, you can just use your phone.
This article clearly shows a huge way people's social norms have changed in the digital age, online dating. 3/10 U.S. adults say they have used a dating app previously, which equates to a few million adults using this new technology, showing its grand impact. #DCIM353McCormick
@RichardYc1044 I even made a post about Musk in an earlier assignment for the class, so I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Personally, I view Musk as a leader before I see him as a celebrity, even though he is both. He helps inspire his workers to strive ever higher.
@nadaleadership While many people think celebrities are selfish people, Holland is helping to break that mold. He uses his fame and people's admiration of him to raise money for those in need. He is giving his fans the dream of meeting him while also giving to a good cause.
@rav_mitra She is very honest with her followers, not trying to use their faith in her against them. Encouraging people with the importance of voting should never be understated, especially when a celebrity like Grande support it to the extent she does.

Famous singer Elton John displays incredibly leadership qualities through his work. He has raised over $450 million to fight AIDS and is a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in our society. He inspires change for the better in our community. #LIDC90
@PandyaUrjaa Being active on social media can enable a leader to reach places they never would have been able to do before. They can hit audiences that may have never heard of their business/brand and become engrossed in it through the actions of said leadership. #LIDC90
