@BenJohns_pb However, testing deflection of used paddles certainly opens a can of worms for the USA Pickleball Association. There are no guidelines on this as far as I know. The rate of deflection across all paddles and technologies will increase with use.

@BenJohns_pb As it stands the rules clearly state delam paddles are illegal. However, the deflection test is a lab test done on a new paddle. There is no rules or guidelines beyond that once a paddle is in use. This not to say any company is trying to use that as an advantage.

@BenJohns_pb Again delam is another issue. My understanding the Pros using such paddles of other brands were deliberately altering their paddles. Fully support stamping that out.

@BenJohns_pb With a carbon seam around the edge it makes for a stiffer paddle - which is where the power comes from. On the topic of deflection all paddles will have increased deflection over time. My guess is other paddles will deteriate faster than those with a carbon edge.

@BenJohns_pb Certainly didn't sign up for this or expect any of this when I started exploring paddle technology with the aim of making a better paddle. I think its clear we have done just that based on how this is all blowing up. Ben you are welcome to come to Australia and share a beer!

@BenJohns_pb Any player or person can alter a paddle and delaminate the surface- across any type of paddle or company. We certainly do not condone that behaviour. We can not control that behaviour but hope it is stamped out of the game by governing bodies.

@BenJohns_pb In closing it seems some pro players are intentionally trying to influence the PPA and USA Pickleball to shutdown up and coming new brands that are investing in the sport of pickleball with the simple well intended aim of improving the sport for the future.

@BenJohns_pb On the same day the CRBN "crisis" was announced our new 14mm DBD paddle was approved by the USA Pickleball. To suggest companies are intentionally designing paddles to break rules is simply wrong. We do not wish to deal with defects or warranties.
