@FangedTwo@raycann52242802@ask_aubry “Caste: the origin of our discontent” by Isabel Wilkerson is an excellent book explaining racism,l and status within US society.
@Gutter_Roamer@RevSarahLocke@iquitchurch Same with me. Grew up intensely Christian. I wanted to believe but I just couldn’t and still can’t. I’ve since studied many, many other religions and spiritual teachings to understand more. Glad to know there are others.
@R2D221 @Cee_Yonce @HauteMadam@beyfobic @RashadEst85 From the article: “The fond impressions were planted later, Blade Runner-style, by online fandom — because what should have been herstory’s greatest Super Bowl ad of all time never actually aired in America!”
@MadScientistAmy@ShelbyLynnLFC @defnotadino @WDaisyWandren @TraumaSoapBoxes I doubt the family of that child in Oregon has private insurance. Most likely the medical bills were all paid by Medicaid.
@notanicegirl1 @nephthys0xa @EruditeElf I don’t want to like this post, but I do want to acknowledge your stuffering. I am sorry you had to experience that.
My mom told me her starting salary at a community college in 1985. It’s 150k in today’s money. There is no making your lunch at home that can make up for this. I make less than half that
@emmiebrie @tattoosbyjon@Culture_Crit Agreed. Rothko’s paintings must be seen in person. I also dismissed his art, then saw his pieces in Houston. Tried to replicate it myself but I realized I’m no Rothko.
@akchato And the smell lingers!! I was using the bags to cover some items while working on the ceiling, realized the smell is too strong, removed the bags. A day later, I could still smell the scent. Crazy. What’s in it?? It can’t be good for anybody’s lungs!
