@septumfunk_com@SlayerStarX@chef_of_games You’re thinking about this in terms of Sonic in general, that’s not what I said, I meant it in terms of only his design, voice and characterization that’s Sega/Sonic Teams choice. They made the character so they get to decide those three things. We can definitely disgree tho.
@senpaiquadry@chef_of_games Also Amy, ultimately it doesn’t matter, I just think consistency is nice lol
People argue that blue arms takes away from being able to differentiate Sonic’s arms from his body but Tails and Knuckles were created in the same 16-bit era so why doesn’t that excuse apply to them?
@septumfunk_com@chef_of_games It’s not black and white, sometimes fan outrage is definitely valid and sometimes it’s not, I personally don’t think changing the design to something akin to the movie that big of a deal but that’s just my opinion, most people won’t see it the way I do and that’s perfectly fine!
@septumfunk_com@chef_of_games Trust me I understand the importance of fan input, I’m also very critical of what sega and sonic team do on occasion. I’m just saying that at the end of the day it is their character, and we can only voice our opinions! Whether they choose to listen is on them.
@PlongoYT@ZachInsomnia I mean was that inspiration intentional? probably not… But still! I feel it isn’t that jarring. I think a balance of rock and something cartoony would be good but that’s just my opinion
@PlongoYT@ZachInsomnia To play devils advocate for a sec, Junkie taking inspiration from Tom & Jerry isn’t as unfitting as you’d think. A huge part of Sonic’s design was inspired by golden age western animation. Ofc his coolness was apart of that too but he can be equal parts cool and wacky cartoon.
@hmanature That’s not what Micheal said tho… he likes Elvis, he just wasn’t his favorite, which is fair.
Also to give credit where credit is due, Elvis also wasn’t a fan of the king title ether and openly pointed to Fatz Domino as being the true “king”
