I get what you are saying in terms of likelihood but I do think people need to realize that in this age the desire for cracked developers to build open source are higher than ever. Many grew up in corrupt systems and legitimately want to offer good tech and disrupt, many AI startups can't get any traction bc in countries like the US the field is gated to elite players. As we get closer to dystopia, open source and similar solutions will propagate and be incentivized more
