@cyrano54 @NoostyDriver @prageru I was replying to @NoostyDriver, it was her engaging in whataboutism. Even if clergy were the bigger abusers all she’s arguing is “clergy do it so teachers can too”
@GVSfit What about squat shoes? On a serious note I would think that would be one of the few “fitness products” you can buy that would actually have a significant impact. In my experience they were a game changer for squatting and I’m only 6’0 tall with proportionally sized femurs
@davidnelsonORL@CollinRugg “What about circumcision” that’s just whataboutism. In my opinion both should be banned, but the consequences of an unwanted transgender surgery are FAR greater. And yes, the process of questioning your gender identity is very much an identity crisis.
@xanxan_223 @millionaire_ex@DelusionPosting Also, my guess is that your definition of “obscene clothing” is far removed from what a reasonable person would say is obscene if you think that it’s nearly non existent in drag.
@xanxan_223 @millionaire_ex@DelusionPosting Why would I have to go to drag show to verify this myself. That’s like saying you have to go to hooters to verify that the waitresses wear sexualized clothing. Even if there are drag shows where performers dress modestly, that doesn’t justify the ones where they aren’t
@xanxan_223 @millionaire_ex@DelusionPosting The intent doesn’t matter, preforming sexual dances and/or in obscene clothing in front of kids is morally irresponsible at best. we’ve all seen multiple videos of this happening.
@Marg0Pol0@alphathicc_crew@Wernaldinho@RyanRearick@TakesAppalling They are rare, but increasingly less so. MtFs competing is different than cis women with high T/intersex qualities competing. Even so, as you said yourself those cis women were barred from competing. What exactly is your point?
@Marg0Pol0@alphathicc_crew@Wernaldinho@RyanRearick@TakesAppalling As for cis women being disqualified for high T, that certainly happens but it’s extemely rare and a fringe scenario. Not at all useful model for how we can include transgender athletes in sports in my opinion.
@Marg0Pol0@alphathicc_crew@Wernaldinho@RyanRearick@TakesAppalling Structure is just one of the advantages a MtF might have from going through male puberty. Greater lung capacity, enhanced strength, better leverages, hand and foot size, and possibly being able to train for their respective sport while being exposed to androgens.
@Marg0Pol0@alphathicc_crew@Wernaldinho@RyanRearick@TakesAppalling For MTFs who skipped male puberty entirely, it’s easier to make a case for their inclusion. However, that’s such a minuscule subset of the transgender athlete population at this time and deserves its own conversation and it would be disingenuous to equate them to MTFs who did not
@Marg0Pol0@alphathicc_crew@Wernaldinho@RyanRearick@TakesAppalling For MtFs who didn’t skip male puberty, bone density is decreased by taking the drugs required to transition but it still doesn’t level the playing field nor was that my argument. I used bone structure as an example for that reason, not density.
@alphathicc_crew@Wernaldinho@RyanRearick@TakesAppalling Bone structure is the most straightforward way to make that point but there are many other reasons why what are essentially hypogonadal males shouldn’t compete with females if the goal is fairness
@alphathicc_crew@Wernaldinho@RyanRearick@TakesAppalling Biological males have on average more advantageous bone structures for athletics than biological females, especially if they went through male puberty. No matter how hard you crash your T levels that’s an unfair advantage for MtF athletes.
@BiggoofyB@tizintest@1Nicdar Letting a young child who can’t consent to or understand a gender change take puberty blockers that have a decent chance of irreversibly altering their body.
