An important note stressed by the @hisheylachungpa, MP, Rajya Sabha on how early restoration of the NH damaged by the GLOF is of utmost importance to the national security of India.
With the help of friends and well wishers, we were able to transport rations and essentials to the cut off places impacted by the Sikkim flood with the service and help provided by the @sikkimgovt@IndianAirforce@indianarmy@thehelpinghelp,lachen
Finally the weather allows the heavy vertical lift capability of the IAF to begin operations. This is critical for areas in North Sikkim that have been cut off after the Teesta III dam at Chungthang Sikkim collapsed. 🙏
Why this is also very critical & could be much more disastrous is the amount of such GLOF-prone lakes in North Sikkim (also Bhutan).
South Lhonak Lake is one example. All of them get funneled through a single exit: i.e, Teesta River.
