The third reason for inflation is that the Bank of England has pushed up the cost of money, and is clearly intent on continuing to do so. This is seriously inflationary, in itself. That needs explanation.

@housebotanicals Good example is the private rental market where demand commonly outstrips supply. Mortgage rates go up and thus so does rent to try & maintain lifestyle/profit etc. It's really disproportionately impacting people who do not have any capital or highly leveraged & might lose it.

@housebotanicals Not sure I am more clued up, but I think the answer is in part, yes. Interest rate rises make accessing money more expensive. Those that can charge more for their products or services are, to keep up with interest repayments, and this in turn is continuing to push up inflation.
