@WiggerMaggot It all really comes down to lighting. The CGI in the prequels and LOTR holds up surprisingly well for 20 year old films due to good art direction, because they knew how to use lighting to both mask imperfections and make models look more “real.”
@ZeldaZealot It’s always been surprising to me that baseball has been around in Japan for this long. Naturally you’d assume it was a post-WW2 cultural exchange but no, it’s been a thing there since the Meiji
Liftoff.
The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.
Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.
You could get a job at the Bay Roan Stables and buy this house just off the canal. Then meet a nice girl at the Great Chapel of Mara and take her on a date to Silverhome on the Water. Get married and send your kids to the Mages Guild. But you will not.
The real darkness of the age was in the loss of Rome’s practically globalist economy and safe means of travel by road and sea, not in a loss of artistic capability. The real dark ages were between the fall of Mycenae and the births of Homer and Hesiod.
Hard disagree. Much of the artwork and artifacts of the French “dark ages” remain in churches today, deteriorated in the case of books, or were lost during the 1789 revolution.
The major mistake here is judging the French for a lack of visual arts. During this period the French, always renowned for their literary talents, produced many great works - first to mind is the Song of Roland, though one mustn’t forget various chivalric poems and theologies.
@KanameChudori A lot will hinge on the current SC rulings. Overall I don’t think much will change, most of the MAGA voters who may have been “swayed” are low propensity and won’t vote in midterms. I think slim house majority is still in view.
“The Death of the Epic” is something you might hear. The Lord of the Rings is quite literally the Epic of our age. Tolkien was a linguistic and literary genius.
