Jordan Griffin, a PhD student in archaeology, plans to use her scientific diving certification to collect data for her dissertation research in Montana and California. She's looking forward to making the diving community a more inclusive space, noting that "Visibility matters."

Ivan Moreno (@termofilos), a PhD student in marine biology and freshwater ecologist, had never been exposed to SCUBA diving prior to Scripps. The program encouraged him to embark on scientific diving trips to assist in data collection and field exploration projects.

MAS student Analisa Freitas believes a diverse cohort brings greater understanding between people. Of her experience underwater, she noted, “I feel fortunate to experience a world that many humans do not, and hope to continue doing it in the name of marine conservation.”
