You cannot - in a once-every-four-years competition - that is largely a single elimination tournament - make a team play 10 on 11 after a red card, and then remove that team’s offending player for the next game. You just cannot, for ANY reason… let alone a silly, unintentional ‘infraction’ like tonight’s. Not when fans care, root, and spend this much. It ruins the product. And also invites corruption among referees.

this expansion happened for a reason. asia’s investing billions and building systems that take 10-15 years to mature. fifa loves money and knows keeping asia's seats at 8-9 is best for business. so pulling the rug out now because of one bad tournament is peak reactionary

6/ the competitive imbalance at the 2026 world cup partly reflects the format change itself. more teams, less preparation time. different format. and that resolves naturally over one or two cycles.

@Shubail1647221 @FootballPak reducing asia to 5 world cup slots is backwards. you want the continent to improve? give them more chances to compete, not fewer. japan and korea are solid. more participation = more investment. plus the afc is already corrupt enough without limiting opportunities even more
