JD Vance promoting his book about finding his way back to faith while helping manage Situation Room meetings on how to cover up for pedophiles is about as Republican as it gets.
This is how you capture the press. You let the friendly billionaire buy it, and you clear the path.
Here’s what just happened:
Career DOJ antitrust lawyers spent months investigating Paramount’s takeover of Warner Bros. They were leaning toward challenging it as anticompetitive. Then leadership shut it down before staff could even file their recommendation.
Paramount is run by David Ellison, son of Trump ally Larry Ellison. And Warner Bros owns CNN.
Ellison told Trump officials he would make sweeping changes to CNN. He already installed Bari Weiss atop CBS News, and she is expected to help oversee CNN. As Pete Hegseth said out loud, “the sooner David Ellison takes over that network the better.”
So connect the dots.
A regulator overrides its own experts to greenlight a deal.
The deal hands a Trump ally control of a major newsroom. And the administration barely hides its enthusiasm for what comes next.

This week will be one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of. NASCAR on Prime will broadcast the @NASCARSanDiego race from an aircraft carrier. Join us for a special day of racing on Sunday as @SportsonPrime will be live from the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson.

Americans realizing they spent $75 billion fighting Iran, then another $300 billion rebuilding Iran, just to reopen the Strait of Hormuz that was already open before the war started
Happy 65th Birthday to Tar Heels legend Sam Perkins! 🎉
A three-time All-American, 1982 National Champion, and Olympic gold medalist, Perkins remains one of the most accomplished players in North Carolina basketball history. 🩵🐏
So. The white guy in GA who went home, intentionally put on body armor, intentionally grabbed an AR-15 and intentionally drove back through a family gathering opening fire....

They told us the system couldn't win a championship. They were wrong. The Carolina Hurricanes are bringing the Stanley Cup back to Raleigh... https://t.co/mGL7WQ252Q
So after being around college coaches this weekend this is the general consensus I got:
27’s- that’s who the majority were there to evaluate. A lot of it was honestly putting together lists of who they’ll have their HC watch in July.
28’s- unless you’re an absolute stud they really aren’t paying too much attention outside of getting your info to invite you to elite camp.
29’s &30’s- you really just out there hooping. College is so far away and so many things are changing you shouldn’t even be worried about who’s watching tbh
