Big news folks: our latest paper is now available in JBM! ๐
Can't fully express how excited I am. In addition to providing the 1st insights into TAM in Bacteroidota, this work represents the completion of my postdoc in the wonderful lab @CCanimorsus
I'm so proud! ๐ช
Today my last lecture for this a.y., I delivered a webinar to PhD students in Life Sciences and Biochemistry @SapienzaRoma.
Course "Metabolism and metabolites".
The example used? The publication @jbiolchem doi: 10.1016/j.jbc.2024.107803
Thanks to co-presenter @SlidingClamp90 ๐
New preprint ๐จ: with @Mariusz78897208 we found that the Bacteroidetes beta-barrel assembly machinery is quite different to E. coli. https://t.co/jXTf8Pzvha #cryoEM
And then the nice collaboration with @lux_des and his group in the frame of the past NATO SPP project and present @CLCBIODETECT on pathogens detection, nanotechnologies and thermoplamonic effect

We have also published an interesting article on the use of my beloved enzyme ๐ E coli GadB (glutamate decarboxylase) to synthesize homohypotaurine, a promising candidate to protect endothelial cells and cardiomycytes from cytotoxic compounds, as H2O2

2024 was also the year in which we published two articles on phosphinic compounds that we are studying since some years and are promising antimicrobials
