The biggest shift wouldn’t be Warsh versus Powell.
It would be moving from backward-looking models to real-time market signals.
If the Fed starts reacting to where inflation is going instead of where it was six months ago, policy could become dramatically less destabilizing.
I love solar. I am seriously invested in it. If we still need more capacity once all the commercial building rooftops and the parking lots are covered, then we'll talk about grazing land.
@johnrich@alex_fasulo@SecRollins@LonesomeLands I understand solar on farmland is controversial. The first thing you should do is make sure there are BMP’s to protect topsoil. Then you should make sure they are sheep friendly—forage seeding, water, gateway locations, handling areas, etc. Hate solar, that’s ok but not sheep.
Noblesse oblige did not die, its WASP pioneers are extinct & this new class has (very successfully!) woven a distorted version of it into every institution
Cons may crow that woke is dead but it is not, it took a step back but remains a weed fully entangled in the roots
@TonyNashNerd@PrometheusCHT My base case today is that companies are realizing they can adopt & train open-source models on campus for most of their needs, relying on frontier less & less for solutions involving proprietary IP.
@benryanwriter To cope with the fact that they are lazy losers who had every advantage they just became socialist to have the moral high ground over successful family members. They say to themselves they don’t to be successful because ambition corrupts.
@raquellrussell@SenKatieBritt I don't either, but I'm not so impatient I can't give the departed's remainders a day of grievance without chiding for misdeeds, real or imagined.
@johnddavidson “ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. … But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.”
James 4:10, 16
You know this is actually an interesting question but of course it’s answered in a snarky way rather than a with a spirit of humility and ecumenicism. Of course one can think of a different answer, namely institutional differences, but the point of the post seems to be more of “haha, Protestants religion is hollow” rather then a serious question. Sad.
