Running is a lot of things to a lot of people. It is a sanctuary, a stress relief, a habit, a purpose. It is a fundamental way of life.
Running was there for me before this, and it will be there after.
I don’t know much, but I know that.
Here’s to running.
Anybody suggesting the Marathon Trials be re-run, just stop. There are 6 athletes who actually have so much to celebrate during this tough time, please don’t crap on their parade.

Tried real hard today. Love that I get to do this for a living. Thank you @brooksrunning for all the support. Thank you fans for all the cheers. Thank you competitors for pushing me to be my best. #Atlanta2020
Very proud of top 3 women! And heartbroken for @des_linden so close in 4th but still, insanely inspired by how she finished, pushing hard & closing in-thank you for always “showing up” all the way to the Finish line no matter the result! We love you Des!🇺🇸#olympictrialsmarathon
This coverage of the #MarathonTrials20 is a dumpster fire. Thanks, @NBCSports. It makes me sad that people watching at home have no understanding of the intricacies of a marathon BECAUSE WE ARE NOT WATCHING IT.
@macfleet1 @NBCSports @DeenaKastor Dude man. You’re spot on. This is almost unwatchable. 30 seconds of the men’s field, 30 seconds of the female field, 10 minutes of the booth of ppl talking and commercials.
Stepped out onto the course for a second to catch @JMMackattack and @LeighAnneSharek while running. Might sob but will be back with more updates shortly. #Atlanta2020
Why do we train on the track? It helps us to actually make our bodies maintain the high pace of a fast marathon. These trainings tell the body what hard work is and also helps us to run in a smooth way. Therefore track is of crucial importance to us.
This was a long time coming. For years, I felt broken and alone- I waited, yet no one reach out to help.
Now I am ok. But the system isn’t. And I can’t stay silent.
This was hard to share, so thanks @lindsaycrouse & @nytimes for all your support. ❤️

Replace “I don’t have time” with “it doesn’t matter to me.” Let that sink in. 😲 Make it matter to make it happen. Everyone is busy & there’s never a perfect time to get uncomfortable. Just start. 🔥// How are you… https://t.co/bv6lhl4PzT
Imagine if @NikeRunning offered an incentive to buy another pair when you reach their suggested limit of 300 miles.
Say 40% off a pair of new kicks to get you chasing new goals?
Worth a think...
"If you want to race fast, you have to train fast" is 100% true.
But it doesn't mean that most of your running is fast. In fact only 15-20% of your overall weekly mileage can be "fast" (the rest is easy). It's that *balance* that's the real secret sauce.
