Nna I am glad I was brave enough to leave the teaching profession.
Society loves abusing teachers in the name of “passion”. Mind you, education is a triangulation of efforts. The learner, teacher and parent, all have an equal role to play!!
Mina, I won’t lie, I was a STRUGGLE in Grade 1. 😭 I couldn’t even hold a pen properly. I couldn’t read, write, or tell you what a dog was in English. All I knew was how to misbehave. My mother was so worried that she took a month’s leave just to focus on me. And mfethu that month was HELL! 😭💀
There was no gentle parenting in that house. I had to learn my ABCs, form words, read, and write. If I tried dodging schoolwork and came home at 3 or 4, my chores would be done for me, and straight into class I went. My weekends belonged to my mother!
After that month, she told my grandmother to make sure I did my schoolwork. My grandmother even went to my school and spoke to Mrs Dlamini, who has since passed away, may her soul rest in peace. ❤️ She asked her to make sure I did my work, and Mrs Dlamini took that responsibility seriously. She taught me until Grade 3, and that’s when things changed. By Grade 3, I had become one of the top students!
But this is why I believe parenting cannot be separated from a child’s environment. Some families have access to tutors, educational toys, extra lessons, and endless resources. Others have nothing but a parent who has to be strict about his/her child with everything that they have.
@afrofinest254 For me It's because it softly replaces your phone number. WhatsApp being attached to someone's phone number is really the main reason I've used it for so long and I suspect many others as well. Without that it's just another social media app.
I am no longer afraid of things falling apart. I have seen what happens after the worst of it. The sun still rises, people still laugh, new things still begin, and one day, you find yourself happy about something you once thought you would never recover from.
@sbapzy People talk about allowing others to have a safe space, until a situation calls for it. I am glad that she has allowed herself to express her situation the way it is unapologetically.
You guys are allowed to mute/block Lerato if her tweets are unpalatable or suddenly becoming a nuisance cause according to you she should go and cry in a dark corner of her room or should have gotten over it by now. She is an old bitter, mentally unstable woman until it's you.
