GEO Group is attempting to remedy the situation by transferring all detainees to other detention centers, where they will undoubtedly face more overcrowding, forced labor, dismal conditions, and untold abuses.

The effort to turbocharge the process of criminalizing, abducting, and deporting immigrants is predictably resulting in horrific abuse and terror. The combination of incompetence and cruelty ensures that those caught up in Trump’s terror campaign will suffer immensely.

This uprising made clear the shoddy construction of the facility, with GEO Group stating that a wall had been destroyed. They have not even been able to account for the people inside, with it being unclear whether some of the unjustly detained immigrants escaped.
