@RussOnPolitics It is refreshing, actually, to see a politician discard a fellow politician in service of his promises to his electorate - instead of backstabbing his voters to make common cause with other politicians, which tends to be the norm.
@MarkAmesExiled IF that is what is happening then it is a marvel to behold.
BIG, if true, as they say.
But with these ghouls, nothing is as it seems, so it is beyond our ken.
@MrEph@d_aviladickson My husband, I married him in 2001, haven't seen him since, but I understand, he has a job to do and make money for the family, which is what I married him for.
@matthewstoller The war has not ended, there is a whole ecosystem within and without the country that will generate so much ambient noise that we will be right back to a war-like situation within a week.
Incredible humanity and poise from @DarializaforNY when falsely smeared by her opponent about her decision to attend a rally for Palestinian rights as she accurately anticipated an incipient genocide.
The ceasefire agreement with Iran with the opening of the Strait of Hormuz is welcome news. Democrats should support it. I am glad it includes a provision for mutual respect of the US & Iran's sovereignty so we do not launch a dumb war of choice again.
The war was a costly lesson for the US. As expected, Trump failed to bring about regime change. The terms seem no better than what Obama secured under the JCPOA nearly a decade ago. America lost 14 precious service members and wasted billions of dollars on this foolish endeavor.
But today, we can be relieved that gas and food costs will start coming down for Americans. And that no more American or civilian lives will be lost.
It also shows that when the Congress votes to end war --as we did last week -- it can be a wake up call for the President to listen to the anti-war sentiments of the American people.
I have fought the neocons and warmongers in Washington for more than 25 years. Throughout, they have tried to silence, discredit, slander, and cancel me. Only recently, however, have they tried to deport me.
At least, that appears to have been the aim of a hit piece in Bari Weiss’s The Free Press, which claimed that Marco Rubio’s State Department was “investigating” me for allegedly seeking to “undermine the U.S.”—presumably because of my opposition to war with Iran.
Yet just hours later, the State Department issued a statement to reporters clarifying that “the State Department has no plans to revoke the green card of Mr. Parsi at this time.” Nor did it provide any confirmation for the central premise of the Free Press story—that an investigation of me existed in the first place.
So here’s what I think happened.
