Some big personal news: After nearly two years of covering Meta, I’m starting a new role at @BusinessInsider as Senior Technology Editor! I’m also thrilled to announce that @CharlesRollet1 — frequent collaborator, exceptional reporter, and wonderful colleague — will be our new Meta Correspondent. I can’t wait to see what he does with the beat!
In my new role, I’ll work closely with @ryajetha to shape our robotics and physical AI coverage; edit VC Insider, our newest newsletter, alongside @LeenaRao, with reporting from scoopy superstars @thebenbergman and @Katie_Roof; and support our team’s broader tech coverage.
I’ve spent most of the past 15 years reporting from the front lines of tech in both the United States and India, and I’m incredibly excited to use those instincts to help my team win.
This transition means I’ll be working more behind the scenes, managing and editing — but I’m not hanging up my reporting hat. If you work in tech, I’d still love to hear from you and grab coffee if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m at [email protected] and on Signal at pranavdixit.04.
A huge thank you to @JamieHeller, @srussolillo, and @LeenaRao for this incredible opportunity and for trusting me with this responsibility!
Tbh our favorite moment with Felicity Barber this week was her list of words to retire. “Excited.” “Thrive.” And “we’re all like a family.” Can we all agree these need to go?
She’s written for leaders at Lloyd's of London, Federal Reserve Bank of SF, BlackRock and is so refreshingly honest about AI, pricing and what CEOs get wrong on stage.
More on these topics and a lot more on the new Smart in Public 🎙️👇
Who are the companies trying to win the hearts and minds of storytellers and comms people?
They should sponsor @Smart_In_Public podcast. It’s listened to by everyone I know in comms.
Cat’s out of the bag — I’m joining @WIRED as a senior writer starting April 6! Absolutely thrilled to be joining this incredible team (which I learned today will now feature not one, not two, but FOUR @dailydot alumni)!!!
We are high vibes on the pod today with the co-founders of @Honeyjar_AI

Come work with me on Stripe product comms!
We’re looking for people with unorthodox backgrounds, spiky skills, high-agency, strong points of view, taste, and curiosity about the power of fast-improving infra in a world of agents and stablecoins
To apply, among other things, tell us what we’re not getting right!
When @edwinarbus texted me about the role, I thought he had the wrong person. I also had no idea what product comms was. Frankly, I hadn't spent a minute thinking about comms as a function until then
Two years later, I still find the way we practice the function hard to define
The work itself is easier to describe: intellectually rigorous, creatively open, intense, and vast in scope. It keeps you on your toes
Where else does a product comms person get to help produce Cheeky Pint, plan product launches, write user keynotes, and build fun websites explaining usage-based billing with a Will Smith eating spaghetti meme?

Some news: I've joined @PaloAltoNtwks to lead communications.
For the past 6+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside founders and company builders in their pursuit of making history. Being part of @kleinerperkins has been the ultimate privilege. The team lives up to its reputation, and earns it every day. It's a genuine reminder of what it looks like to steward something greater than any one person. 🖤
Along the way, I've a front-row seat to the most profound technological shift of our lifetime, and found deep fulfillment working with mission-driven leaders and teams.
Joining Palo Alto Networks came down to the team, the moment we're in, and the work ahead. Every organization is figuring out how to move fast, stay secure, and build trust, and I’m grateful for the chance to help tell that story at such a critical moment with such an incredible team. 🧡
