@JoJoFromJerz To understand human dynamics it helps to look across history. The technology has changed but our nature has not. Even well educated intelligent people may align with the dark side for perceived personal political gain. Belief and tribal relations Trump (sic) reason and evidence.
@djrothkopf The original Roe v Wade decision was based on a very strained interpretation of the constitution. It rests with the states now. If we are to have an amendment protecting abortion it should come through the legislature. People wanting such a right should vote like it matters.
@Pink Just as society (including men) have a legitimate interest in preventing termination of full term born children, society likewise has an interest in setting limits on when elective abortions should be allowed. 9th month is too late, right? The question is where to draw the line.
@Pink Why is it OK to have laws banning the killing of one’s born children but unacceptable to ban elective abortion of a 9th month fetus. If you accept laws banning elective abortion of 9th month pregnancy, the you there can be an honest discussion as to where the line should be.
@skepticphysics @FranklTobias @Pink Instead of responding that you have no problem with a law barring elective third trimester abortion (of which few if any are ever performed), you dodge the question. Why? Perhaps you don’t want to open the door to an honest debate as to where the line should be?
@RubinReport Just curious, is this the only major conspiracy theory you buy into, or do you also think the election was stolen, that 9-11 was an inside job, that big pharma has been sitting on cancer cures, man didn’t land on the moon, etc?
@JoJoFromJerz I noticed a slight smile from Schiff much of the time today which I’d rather he suppress. I just don’t want to give right wing talk show hosts a millimeter of distraction to play with. It should all be hammers squarely hitting the nails, workman style. Then to Mr. Garland.
@Emywinst The Roe v Wade decision was based on a very strained interpretation of the constitution. Ideally it would be overturned and replaced with proper law and limited to early stage elective abortion and any which are medically advisable.
@kimguilfoyle Trump caused a violent insurrection and constitutional crisis. He is rotten to the core. Your relatively petty criticisms of Biden are misplaced as they are largely the result of geopolitical realities outside our control.
@RpsAgainstTrump For an action to be considered a crime it must be identified as such in our penal code. This poll has ambiguous wording which may have led to confusing results. Whether an act is or should be a crime are two separate questions.
@OccupyDemocrats RT if you think think it would be best for the investigative and judicial process to conclude and let the chips fall where they may. RT if you think hyperbole and a rush to judgement are childish and inappropriate.
@phil_opus @lecates_logan @TeamPelosi I believe that’s what you believe and none of what I’ve brought to the table has changed you opinion at all. Of course you simply saying I’m wrong about all this or that knives are as lethal as guns is not very compelling. It seems we’re at an impasse.
@phil_opus @lecates_logan @TeamPelosi Proof is impossible but your position strains credulity. A semi-auto handgun is far more effective than a knife. The gun is a stand-off rapid fire weapon. In its absence overall homicide rates would almost certainly drop. There will never be proof, just data and reason.
@phil_opus @lecates_logan @TeamPelosi Could you provide the link? I see many Rand articles claiming a relationship between rates of gun ownership and gun violence, but not what you are referring to.
@phil_opus @lecates_logan @TeamPelosi Rule of law is not well established and enforced in Mexico. I have higher expectations of the U.S. and other democratic 1st world nations.
@phil_opus @lecates_logan @TeamPelosi Understood. I’m not claiming all US homicides are by gun. I’m claiming that in 2020 79% of US homicides were by gun. https://t.co/tE00gfDHs6
