@ssbmhax Hey Hax, this is AltF4, the author of the SLP Enforcer app. I did want to reply that the app never uses the word "cheating". That's a very loaded word which implies intent that my tool is certainly not capable of finding.
There was a reddit post that did, but it was not mine.
@serster13 @bettercallnams @MonkMode_ Firmware fully compliant with the ruleset is not yet available. In particular, there's still an issue with illegal SDI. So if that's what you're seeing, then it's expected.
Announcing Slippi Online Ranked early access!
Early access for this beta will be available to Slippi subscribers only (not Patreon, details in thread).
Early access will last roughly 3 months at which point Ranked will be free for everyone.
Here's how to get set up...
@GREG_THUNDER When "common sense" is put against "corporate interest", common sense loses every time. But when "large corp" goes against "small corp", the large corp wins. We may win this fight not because of common sense, but because major corporate interest is actually aligned with us.
If we really pressed this issue, we could get buy-in from some major tech companies. They won't want to lead the charge, but could be convinced to sign on. Since it's clearly in their significant financial interest.
If Melee wants to throw the ring into the fire and be finally free, we need to lobby a change to copyright law to insist that publicly playing a video game is not an infringement of copyright.
The game publisher should have no right to dictate if people stream video of a game.
We may find Amazon and Google unlikely but powerful allies here, as well as the rest of the combined eSports communities. Since currently (almost) all of Twitch and (gaming) YouTube are illegal on their face. It's willful copyright infringement.
"What do we do if we get the c&d two weeks before the tournament?"
🐐 @bobbyscar: we turn the fucking tournament into a protest, everyone still come, I want the stream to be on
Looks like we're beefing with Avast, AVG, and maybe more again.
Fun.
If you're using them, do yourself a favor and uninstall, they're basically malware. Windows defender does a fine job.
