Congratulations to our very own Luke Golding and Ava Sjoberg worthy winners of the Roy G Post Scholarship Awards at WM2025, Phoenix Arizona. Proud of them both. @SmashUoS@ISL_Sheffield
Better late than never but last month I had the incredible opportunity to present my work at the biggest cements conference in the world, it was such an amazing experience and the two weeks travelling around Thailand after weren’t too bad either!#ICCC2023
During the coffee break we had a poster session when our second year #GranthamScholars presented their PhD research which all relates to sustainability. There were some great posters presented across all different departments! @SmashUoS@Jake_Allcock@luthfi_fathan@AvaCements
SMASH delegates have arrived in Bangkok for ICCC 2023. We had such a lovely evening at the pre-Congress dinner and exploring the local culture. Looking forward to the proceedings starting today! #ICCC23
Congratulations to our @BrantWalkley who will be leading a project to address challenges in radioactive waste treatment, packaging, and storage!
A share of £1m funding has been awarded by the UK in partnership with the Japanese government.
Take a look at all the details 👇

We had such a good time and already looking forward to the next GRAND event!
Please RT🚨 We will begin recruiting next week for a new postdoc to join our group to develop new processing technology for utilisation of industrial waste in cement and concrete. Strong industrial focus & applied chemical/materials engineering research. More details to follow.🌍
Always a pleasure to chat with you @EdConwaySky about cement, materials, and sustainability. Excited to read your new book too - my colleague @pvcryan was raving about it the other day!
Brant (and the @SmashUoS group) has previously featured in one of Ed Conway's @SkyNews reports, talking about sustainable cement and how the answer to net zero lies here with us at The University of Sheffield

Very proud of @AvaCements who today delivered an excellent talk at @sheffielduni International Women in Engineering Day event #INWED. Big shout out to all of my female colleagues in @SmashUoS@CBESheffield for the excellent work that you do!
It was wonderful to host our colleagues, collaborators, & funders from @SellafieldLtd@UKNNL@NDAgovuk for this event in @CBESheffield - 10 highly experienced experts from the nuclear industry visited our @SmashUoS & @CementsSheff researchers to discuss their research! 🌍👩🔬☢️
Today we welcome industry sponsors and supervisors from @UKNNL, @SellafieldLtd and @NDAgovuk. This is a knowledge exchange event with the aim of ensuring that our research aligns with the nuclear industry. #engineering#phd#nuclear
Going to plug this one again for those who missed it - we have a new Twitter page for our research group, give us a follow up see what we've been up to lately!
