I might not game as much as I used to, but one thing I never stopped doing was attending gaming events.
Insomnia ✅ Gamescom ✅ DreamHack ✅ EGX ✅
Which event should we collect next? 👀
Am I coming back to streaming? Honestly, I don’t know.
So I’m taking over Steph’s stream for a few nights to help out, and to find out. After that, we’ll see, assuming I remember what any of the buttons do. 👀
Former Mixer streamers! Where have you ended up as your new primary platform?
I tried Twitch and TikTok initially before mostly stopping streaming, and eventually barely gamed at all. But I’d love to know where everyone else landed!
After years of wearing glasses at my PC, my latest prescription says I no longer need them for screens.
Please respect my privacy while I process this devastating loss. 🕯️
Seeing so many familiar names pop up yesterday was genuinely lovely!
It’s so strange coming back to an account that feels like a little time capsule, and seeing how much has changed with everyone else.
So, what’s changed in your life over the last few years? 👀
Since Mixer closed, I’ve got married, become a dad, bought a house and worked my way up to team leader.
Weirdly, I barely game anymore.
Smilar is back, but I’ve changed quite a bit.
Well… Smilar is back.
I’m not planning a streaming comeback, but after everything that’s happened online recently, it felt like the right time to reclaim the name.
Same person. Same questionable humour. Slightly more cybersecurity knowledge.
And yes, I still have the hat! 🧢
Always surrounded by reminders…
This all feels like a different life! Each hat in my office shows a different chapter, from the start on Mixer to the red version used for the animated hat!
What was your fondest memory? 🤔
Audit the recovery details on your important accounts. Remove old email addresses, check linked accounts, save recovery codes and keep domains registered while anything still depends on them.
I learned this the hard way.
I lost my Facebook and Instagram accounts without clicking a phishing link or sharing my password.
The way the attacker got in is something most people would never think to check. 🧵
The lesson: an expired domain isn’t necessarily finished with you.
If an account still trusts an address on that domain, whoever registers it next may be able to recreate the mailbox.
