After giving due thought to the problem at hand of the excesses being regularly committed by the Police on the Serving Soldiers/Veterans and the lack of moral courage at the level of our senior leadership to effectively and sternly deal with such situations / incidents, I hereby advise all the Serving Soldiers to procure a personal weapon for their own security & safety as also to save the dignity of Uniform from these Goondas in Khaki who are neither accountable to anyone nor answerable to the Law of the land. Now a days, good weapons are easily available in the market at comparatively low cost and till such time we are in service, under the provisions of DSR para 945, three weapons are permitted to be carried without any Licence. At the time of Retirement, one can get an Arms Licence made. Please don't wait for an NSP Weapon to be issued. In the open market, there are a lot of good quality weapons available with the Arms Dealers. Remember, मार के पीछे पुकार नहीं होती। Under the law, one can use the weapon in self defence to save himself and his family from these Goondas in Khaki especially. You can consider this.

Discrimination with Armed Forces:
All Central Govt employees, incl CAPF, have been getting Additional House Rent Allowance (HRA)when posted in Field / Operational Areas since Jan 2016. However, same is being deliberately denied to Armed Forces by MoD by stating that they have different service conditions.. as revealed by RTI replies., It’s a substantial monetary loss being inflicted on Armed Forces. Having Uniform wearing Babus in DMA hasn’t made much difference. Hope that such important issues of blatant discrimination are taken up directly by Service Chiefs with Hon'ble Raksha Mantri ji.
