Indian prime minister @narendramodi is visiting Ethiopia
A decade ago
Modi promised to build 100 smart cities in India
I hope he feels ashamed when he sees the capital city of Ethiopia and compares it to delhi and most other cities of India in terms of air quality, cleanliness, traffic, and even basic public infrastructure is
Ethiopia has a GDP per capita almost 1/3rd of India
Fact that India has become one of the largest economies in the world and yet it cannot provide even a basic urban experience to its citizens is something that should outage the people of India
₹90 lakhs in black, that’s what builders openly demand today, and governments still pretend everything is normal. Real estate has become the biggest black-money cartel while the middle class is suffocated with EMIs and taxes. If a government can’t even stop 60–100% cash deals happening in broad daylight, what exactly is it governing? This system is a shame on honest citizens.
@IncomeTaxIndia@FinMinIndia@nsitharaman@BJP4India@narendramodi
@IndoreCollector@CMMadhyaPradesh Definitely a wrong move. It will never help us ease traffic. The these buses on the merged roads will create more chances of accidents. The solution to high traffic is a better public transport.
The entire real estate market in India runs on black money. Yet, both the central and state governments are ignoring this problem. Instead, Central Government and Income Tax Department spending all their time tracking donations made by salaried employees.
Cash handout schemes like Ladki Bahin have rocketed from 1 lakh crore in 2020 to 12 lakh crore in 2025
12x growth in 5 years is probably not matched by any government expenditure by miles
Education, health and industry budgets will shrink for handouts all through India
@IndoreCollector None of the buildings in PU4 area have any parking in the basement even after notice from Nagar Nigam and in fact, some shops are back open in the basement. Doesn’t look like building owners taking notices seriously.
Urban planning in India is done by IAS along with Mayor of the city. You get 15 year plans published, updated every 5 years or so. I've read these documents. The only planning done is to decide which localities to "develop" so that real estate can be purchased there beforehand.
India just needs 4% of land to house its entire population with 1 floor buildings
Yet, real estate prices in cities are abnormally high, with houses in Mumbai going upwards of 50 Cr, 10x per sq.f.t versus even US
Regulation, zoning, corruption has artificially inflated price
I request Rahul Gandhi to do a caste census of the people who pay income tax as well... so that we can see who contributes the most for all the freebie scheme!
@idesibanda The central govt has no idea how real estate/land deals are happening in the country. It's already dominated by cash in non-metros and going to increase further now.
@dmuthuk Govt has got it wrong. A lot of cash is circulating in the economy. Businesses/ Individuals in non-metro cities are evading GST by transacting in cash. Most of that black money is parked in real estate and will never come into the banking system.
@Harsh_Gautam007@ajeetbharti It is good for only politicians and babus of Bihar and Andra Pradesh. People will still get broken bridges and potholes-filled roads.
