@JessBlakeOT I remember standing up to a nurse manager in medicine who wanted to discharge a frail lady without care. I declined saying it was inhumane. I was a discharge nurse it was my job to consider all aspects. The uproar and the subsequent reprimand was worth my patients safety
Just held the last social care nurse forum in BNSSG with the best group of people in attendance. @squary0803 it’s been a pleasure sharing this journey with you
@Doctor_Erin_ The pay doesn’t reflect the training, responsibility or the emotional investment. I’m sorry this is the case…. Thank you for being so dedicated you will do it despite all this. Fair pay is crucial
@janeeedouglas I agree the expectations exceed the current model of out of hospital care with multimorbidity and complexities. Registered and non registered staff need upskilling and ongoing support to discuss management of residents to fulfil their health potential #wearesocialcarenursing
@alisonleary1 I stayed to do a night after a late as work load was unsafe with 1 nurse and was berated after. A broken system of staff undervalue and patient safety could do without my support I felt
@EmmaPunc I think any course that can end so abruptly after hard work is a worry. A second attempt is a great opportunity to rework an assignment don’t let fear of failure overshadow your success
@StN_Freda @EmmaPunc I agree but also understanding that not letting a student progress is part of the professional pathway. I hope they continue their career in the best way for them
