I voted today.
I hope virtually all eligible voters vote in the very important election.
And yes I support @PierrePoilievre and all those running to be MP’s on his team.
@Ms_Anchovy Well there was that carbon tax he put in that he said wouldn't cost Cdns anything. Thank goodness Carney removed that. And then there was that scandal when he tried to influence the minister of justice to look the other way for a huge corporation his home riding. oh wait...
@edels0n Kind of related to Scott's take on the shareholder class, we have entered a new era where we willl **always** see some kind of bailout (2008) or intervention (2020) by the political establishment to rescue the stock market.
Less than 2 weeks ago @MarkJCarney told me in person that C-69 was a barrier to large national energy projects and needed to be dealt with. Now he says he has no intention to do anything with it.
Make no mistake. If this law stays there will be few if any large scale energy infrastructure projects built in this country and Alberta and Saskatchewan will be cut off from international markets.
This means Canada will become MORE vulnerable to and overly dependent on the United States.
Albertans will not tolerate this and neither will I. Hopefully this election results in a new Prime Minister that can be trusted to get rid of these terrible policies.
So PP has 1 controversy regarding security clearance. MC has ?? controversies? 1)undisclosed conflicts of interest 2)getting name & history wrong for "hand picked candidate and 3)endorsing candidate that wanted to turn his political adversary over to a foreign govt. #cdnpoli
In one month we have the opportunity to eliminate the political risk discount applied to our energy stocks by voting for:
🇨🇦repealing the pipeline killing C-69 legislation (and C-48/59) and declaring key energy projects in the "national interest"
🇨🇦scrapping the self-flagellating oil production cap that will cost 40,000 jobs and $20.5BN in lost GDP
🇨🇦building more oil pipelines to both coasts to crucially diversify our customer base
🇨🇦eliminating any risk of windfall taxes on the energy sector by choosing a pro-energy PM
🇨🇦recognizing the "business case" in LNG
Let's bring it home!
