🚨 Grenfell Inquiry report 🚨
- "Complacent" govt "well aware" of risk of cladding disaster but failed to act
- "Systematic dishonesty" by product manufacturers "very significant reason" for fire
- "Chronic and systemic" fire safety failures by tower's social landlords
"The dark heart of this catastrophe lies in this simple, depressing narrative: the state stepped back, corporate greed stepped in and innocent people died."
The Grenfell report is out. It is clear. Justice is needed now and this crisis needs to be fixed.

“The Judge concluded that every single loss of life that night was avoidable.”
Perhaps the most horrifying fact to come from the 1700 page Grenfell Tower Inquiry report

Leaseholders go to court to get back secret and therefore unlawful commission payments on insurance premiums which are split between freeholders and agents https://t.co/5XGuv81Nqm will this national scandal at last be revealed and stopped, they ask.
Lottie’s thread captures many of my own feelings after selling our leasehold flat in 2023. The relief, the sadness, the hope, the pain. Wondering if we will ever recover mentally and financially.
So pleased for her but angry there are millions still out there with no way forward
@Lottie_PMeehan Congratulations on getting out Lottie and thank you for all the campaigning on behalf of others like myself. I hope you’re able to have a good break and try to put it behind you. Fingers crossed one day we’ll all be out of this nightmare and can get on with our lives 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
🆕 The UN Human Rights Committee has called on the UK Government to do more to remediate unsafe cladding, describing the circumstances that led to the Grenfell fire as “potential violations of the right to life and human dignity”

80 months ago today, 72 loved ones were taken from us during the Grenfell fire and no one has yet been held accountable for their part in their deaths. We remember those we lost today and all days as we continue to fight for Justice and change 💚💚💚
🚨NEW: Firefighters warn of “criminal complacency” after Wembley cladding fire
At least 125 firefighters and 20 fire engines were called to a cladding fire in Wembley yesterday.
Government ministers and building companies have failed to take action to ensure buildings are safe.
I don't know if, when or why Grenfell and the building safety scandal will 'break through' in the way the Post Office Scandal has. But I'm confident if it does the reaction will be similar. There is such a common reaction of outrage when people hear the details for the first time
You'll have heard me on @LBC just now repeating the fact that buying my leasehold flat is the biggest regret of my life. Cards are stacked against leaseholders. We don't need more regulation, we need @michaelgove to end this feudal system for good.
Three years since we got confirmation we had dangerous cladding and safety defects in our @railpen building.
❌ Cladding still on
❌ No plan to remediate
❌ Can't sell
❌ Can't move on with my life
#EndOurCladdingScandal
I can not begin to explain the joy we had sitting in our actual garden, drinking the fizz we've had had saved for a long time just for this day. I want to thank every leaseholder, campaigner and activist who has made what look impossible just 1 year ago a reality.
But I know we are the lucky ones and so many thousands of others are not. Non-qualifying leaseholders, those in under 11m blocks and everyone else... the fight for them goes on and I will stay involved and active. Everyone leaseholder deserves justice.
Jordan Henderson must think we’re stupid to fall for his claim that he’s gone to Saudi to develop the game there. The move’s about money, not principles, so just say it’s about the money. As stated here last week, the move’s about hypocrisy, too, given his past support for the LGBTQ+ community. And as for England...the standard of the Saudi Pro League will be raised by the influx but will it keep him sharp for the Euros? Henderson is one of the most likeable individuals in football, and was a magnificent servant to Liverpool Football Club on and off the field, but his reputation is damaged by this Saudi move.
I've been trying to work out the best way to write this but... after 3yrs of protesting, campaign group meetings, press interviews ,sleepless nights and stress... we have finally completed on our flat sale! We are now the proud homeowners of our dream house.
A day in the absolute joke of a Tory govt we are having to put up with
Gillian Keegan took on persona of a sweary, self righteous XXXX amid disgraceful RAAC crisis in schools
Gavin Williamson forced to apologise to Parliament for bullying cos he didn't get an invitation to the Queen's funeral. He now has to undergo "behavioural training"...
Sunak tried, and failed dismally, to counter the proof he cut back on schools rebuilding budget...
Chris Pincher lost appeal against suspension from House of Commons for groping two men last year.
There will be more but the news programmes can only cope with so much.....
General Election very soon please
