@IsraelHands_ of their latest battle.

Now all that had been left were a pair of worn out men, drenched in tears, sweat, sea-salt and dirt.
If Edward owed him anything then, that would have been whatever good thing left in the globe that wasn't himself.

.

Or a hug.

"Come here, Iz."

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

"Thanks, mate." He means it.

Ed takes a seat next to Izzy. Shoulder to shoulder, giving the borrowed liquor a good swing before handing it back to Izzy.

"'S funny. The stars have not moved not even a single bit."

[Izzy Hands @IsraelHands_]

Izzy tenses for a moment, eyes darting to his captain.
“Edward,” he says softly, shifting over, nodding once, grunting his affirmation. As the captain approaches, he offers the bottle to him.

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@IsraelHands_ where the fucking current lead them to. He was the shield and the sword and Ed had been the mad man swinging at the air, the beasts and the dragons that neared them no matter the type.

So yes. Ed felt and connected. And yes, his heart did sink along with Izzy's in the midst-

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@IsraelHands_ "If anything, 𝑰 am the one who should apologize." And he would. Properly.

So Edward placed both palms of his on the ground and sat up. A sad-weighting gaze still focused on the pirate next to him.

"We've been sailing for so long without any proper guidance."

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@IsraelHands_ Ed leaned down, his back reclined against the floor with whilst both hands of his rested right above a silver buckle.

"Nah, Iz. Don't apologize for shit, mate." And his head turned in Izzy's direction. Edward's full attention was on his First Mate.

@thegentlebonnet "On it, mate. I'll make ya the loveliest tea ever." He promises with a smile and crinkled eyes before squeezing Stede's hand and standing up to find the stash.

"Any special preferences?"

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@FEARTHEBLKBEARD ⌘ WE NEED TO TALK

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

. . . Would he be interested in orange scented tissues?

[𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐄. 🏳️‍🌈 @thegentlebonnet]

He's got five minutes to spare...

Off to cry, it is!

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@submergcd out ready to be tinted when Ed speaks again.

"Have you ever considered landing a shop?"

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@submergcd He's excited hyst as well!
Too excited, if anything.

Ed sees the motioned finger and he nods before sitting down waitingly with a wide, patient smile on his face.

"Aye, you're the C'ptain on this one, Theo." It's only by the time when she returns and his arm is laying-

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@thegentlebonnet place it right next to Stede's bed.

"Do you want me to make you some tea?"

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

@thegentlebonnet "Shh. . ." Edward moved to run his fingers through Stede's hair.

"Hey. There's nothing there to be sorry about, yeah? If you need to throw up then throw up. Better out than in." Without moving much he stretched out an arm and reached for the nearest bucket just to-

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

"Yeah mate. F'course I will. You and me together until the very end of it all." And if anyone doesn't like that he'll kick their kneecaps.

"C'mon Stede. I've got ya."

[𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐄. 🏳️‍🌈 @thegentlebonnet]

He gets to his feet with Ed's help, arms sliding around the other's frame. Letting out a sigh.

"You'll stay with me, won't you?"

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

What d'you think about a mosquito? The legendary bugs of all stagnant waters

[˚₊ ⋆ ☠︎︎ 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙤𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙖︎ ☠︎︎ ︎⋆ ₊˚ @submergcd]

Wonderful!

What do you want to get then?

[✯ 𝐄𝐝 ✯ @SmoknTheWater]

"Yeah, love. Colds are real pain on the butt." He wraps a careful arm over Stede's shoulder and a second one around his ribs to help him walk.

"And don't get me started on the medicine for it."

[𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐄. 🏳️‍🌈 @thegentlebonnet]

"Cold?" He mutters, now shifting. Head raises, hands rubbing at his eyes as he stiffles a yawn. "Okay. No. I don't want a cold."
