FT: Hillwood AFC 1–5 Chandlers Sunday
A cup final that turned quickly and never really slowed down. Chandlers were 2–0 up inside 13 minutes, handled the heat and occasion well, and took their chances when they came.
Hillwood pulled it back to 2–1 after the water break and briefly looked back in it, but the penalty and red card changed the feel of the game completely. From there, Chandlers controlled it and kept adding to the scoreline.
For a Division Two side to win a final 5–1 against higher-league opposition is the type of result people will be talking about across the GDSFC tonight.
Big day for Chandlers Sunday.
⏱ SECOND HALF UNDER WAY ⏱
The @OnlySportLTD1 Challenge Cup Final is back underway at New Western Park.
Hillwood now face a huge test at 3–1 down and with 10 men.
Can the Championship side still show that higher-league quality and find a way back into the final?
Or can Chandlers Sunday pull off what would still be viewed on paper as a shock result in their first GDSFC season?
Big 45 minutes ahead.
🚨 GOAL FLASH 🚨
As this update was being posted, Chandlers strike again to make it 4–1 early in the second half.

One thing quietly becoming part of the GDSFC finals experience is the customised final match ball created alongside league sponsors Only Sport Ltd.
Speaking to Frank Sideline, Nim explained how the idea originally came about.
“It came from a conversation between myself and league sponsor Only Sport Ltd. We had originally been talking about putting club or league branding onto training balls.
Then when I went in to pick up some things for the finals, he had created a ball with both finalists’ logos on it. Honestly, it looked amazing straight away.”
“For me, small details like that matter because they help make finals feel like proper occasions for the players and clubs involved.”
“A lot of boys in Sunday football might only get one or two finals in their careers, so anything that gives them memories from the day is important.”
“The winning team signing the ball and keeping it also gives clubs something lasting from the occasion.”
“I think another league has actually seen the idea this season and went asking about doing similar for their own finals as well, which is good to see.”
Different divisions. Same opportunity.
