in the US, about 95% of men identify as straight. so 5% are not straight. there are ~2,400 active players in the big 4. basic math says there should be ~120 non-straight players then. and yet there are 0 OPENLY gay/bi players. maybe pride is a little more necessary than you think
@jenglarc@BeshearStan i’m really failing to see how this is such a doomsday scenario to you. these big grocery stores have the money to either pay the tax or pay their employees livable wages. whichever they decide is a benefit to the city
@jenglarc@BeshearStan per your SPUR analysis, "The new tax rate would apply to nearly any large company with at least $1 billion in San Francisco sales and more than 1,000 employees globally". local grocery stores? unaffected. trader joe's, safeway, BIG ones would be. i'm sure they'll be fine
@jenglarc@BeshearStan okay yeah that matches my understanding of the bill. only affects massive companies. fixes the city's deficit. if a company wants to avoid it, they can just pay their employees a livable wage. seems like nothing but positives to me
@jenglarc@BeshearStan **breaking. also did you even read the bill? the top executive pay tax only is an additional tax on businesses that pay their highest paid managerial positions 100x the median pay of sf employees. measure d would’ve increased the rate of that tax and based it off all employees
i don’t think people understand HOW MUCH MONEY a trillion dollars is.
for perspective, the next richest person in the entire world is closer to having $0.00 than becoming a trillionaire themself.
