Caffeine, memes, improv, and SCIENCE! 3rd Year(!!!) MTSU Math & Science Education PhD student! Scicomm and evo ed researcher #BiInSci#DisabledInSTEM (They/She)
I’m SO lucky to be part of such an amazing lab and have such an amazing advisor. This award would NOT have been possible without their support and encouragement. 💙💙💙
Our lab is celebrating after two were honored with poster awards at this year's NABT! Congrats to @mtsu_biology student Donye Asberry for getting 2nd place in undergraduate research and Ph.D. student Kate Coscia for getting 1st place in graduate research!
My first ever publication is on the cover of the new issue of J Chem Ed! Super excited to be able to share ChemisTree as a way to teach electron configuration using LEGOs! It was amazing working with Slade and @lauren_genova on this project! #MyACSCover
My first two research students, Slade Goldman & @SnarkDivine, are now PUBLISHED AUTHORS! So excited to share ChemisTree: an interactive game that uses @LEGO_Group tiles & bricks to help intro chem students build electron configurations of atoms & ions! https://t.co/HwHIMt4AeB
My first ever conference talk is Saturday morning. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the corner alternating between practicing and screaming into the void.
The "fun" of having to change medications in the middle of a semester: playing side effect roulette. Dizziness and nausea seem to be the flavors of this particular round and today was BRUTAL.
We're hosting a virtual open house for our Math and Science Education Ph.D. program! We will have faculty from biology, chemistry, math, and statistics education to talk with prospective students. Come join us! Register here: https://t.co/vZAw67HjI9
@snuggs114 God that’s awful. My ADHD has gone absolutely haywire the past few weeks to the point that overstimulation, lack of focus, and meltdowns have become the norm. It’s so bad right now, it hasn’t been this bad the whole time I’ve been here and IDK why.
Frustration is realizing that you thought your psychiatrist appointment is tomorrow and you were so desperately hoping to have the conversation with them about addressing the ADHD gone haywire and then realizing it's not until Friday.
Signs I probably should be put back on ADHD meds: drinking that coffee-based Starbucks drink yesterday made me the most chill I've been in a LONG time. I didn't have a single meltdown yesterday.
Me and my imposter syndrome during abstract submission: My poster will never get accepted to AAAS. It's too major of a conference and I'm not good enough for that.
Me after checking my email this morning: BRB finding some ketchup because I need to eat those words.
