Someone respected by both sides of the divide. Phil born a West Bromwich lad but played for our neighbours. A warm, kind gentleman, we all loved to spend time in his company. A Wolves legend, great keeper, you will be missed by us all Lofty.
Condolences to family & friends RIP
John Richards says: "It’s a very sad day; we’ve lost one of our greats, and one of the most genuine people you could ever wish to meet. Phil was larger than life, a big character with an even bigger heart. He would help anyone, and was always there if you needed anything. ..
We're saddened to learn of the passing of former Wolves goalkeeper Phil Parkes. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone connected with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves have lost a legend with the sad news of the passing of Phil 'Lofty' Parkes at the age of 79.
Lofty, who passed away peacefully this morning, was not only a great goalkeeper but a wonderful personality with a big heart.
Our sincere condolences to Greg, Dean and the family
"They well and truly broke the mould with Lofty. And the Wolves family is a far less happy and vibrant one without him."

People often get upset when turtles are released so far from the shoreline, But for those who don't know, There is a process involved; Although it might seem cruel to make them walk across the sand dragging their own weight, that trek is vital for their survival for three scientific reasons: Magnetic imprinting: Upon touching the sand, they imprint the magnetic field of that specific beach into their memory. This activates their "natural GPS," allowing them to return to the same spot 20 years later to lay their own eggs. Muscle activation: The physical effort of moving across the beach stimulates their circulatory system, expands their lungs, and warms up their flippers. It is the cardio workout they need to withstand the frenzy of swimming in the ocean. Spatial orientation: They learn to navigate using light reflections from the horizon and gravity, instinctively correcting their course so they don't get lost when entering the water. Nature is perfect! 😍😍 Helping them too much by placing them directly into the water deprives them of the tools they need to survive. So, please don't get angry! 😍
