Came across this, this morning. Really shows that linking technology to health can always be further improved and increase convenience. I would definitely find this useful as I do not proactively look through the long list of exposure sites #HSBH2009 https://t.co/tZcKFbM4rE
So grateful to be receiving timely updates such as this, ensuring the public’s safer against COVID-19. This all comes down to the involvement of technology and various professionals to improve society’s health. #HSBH2009
PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT – NEW VENUES OF CONCERN
We have been notified of a number of new casual contact venues of concern associated with confirmed cases of #COVID19.
Came across this article and when I first started reading it I thought great, we can do the same in Australia! However, this article also explores the cultural barriers for implementation of this approach against COVID. #HSBH2009

@KrisSokolova_ So true I’m currently doing an anxiety unit learning about exposure therapy. I thought about that. Since VR is accomodating to simulate various experiences, majority of the demographic could benefit from it.If the real phobia is not exposed would their fear be the same?#HSBH2009
All the discussion about VR’s influence on healthcare reminded me of a scene from the show ‘Good Doctor’ where they use VR to prepare for a heart surgery. I remember thinking to myself ‘no way that’s possible’ but after reading up on VR impact in surgery, I guess it is! #HSBH2009
@KrisSokolova_ I think it would be useful especially since majority of the patients may not have medical knowledge. If they could see what their complication is or surgery options it may put them at ease. Do you think there are other ways in which VR would help patients? #HSBH2009
Today I was lining up outside Kmart where we were required to show our vaccination certificate. At that moment I was so grateful how quick and convenient it was to pull it up. If not I would be standing in line for ages! #HSBH2009
I was fiddling with my new Apple Watch and realised it has competitions to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Which is so fitting for this weeks lecture!
Now the hardest part is to be more active to unlock these badges 😅 #gamifcation#HSBH2009
I struggled with anatomy especially since we couldn't access physical models. I used an app similar to @perrybarlas1 which helped me appreciate the role of technology in health education.
Makes me wonder how accessible learning anatomy would be before technology...#HSBH2009
@mano3204 I also recently started tracking my sleep and I can relate to this so much! A lot of people would say that COVID gave them an opportunity to catch up on sleep but honestly my sleep is so much worse 🤣
@_hayleyanna I was also considering deleting my social media apps until Bridi O'dea's talk as well! The point she raised about intentionally disconnecting from people is definitely something that not many people think about including me. #HSBH2009
I normally don't read my screen time report because I'm too confronted by how many hours I spend on my phone😂. However, for the first time, I looked deeper into today's report and saw that the first 3 apps I used immediately after unlocking my phone were social medias. #HSBH2009
In this week's lecture the discussion surrounding social media as a medium for news made me reflect on its influence. I think because it delivers succinct forms of the news it has become popular amongst others and myself.
Why do you think social media use for news has increased?
@KrestinaAmon @perrybarlas1 This mind map was very interesting to read and it really shows how interlinked technology behind healthcare is! Thanks for sharing @perrybarlas1! #HSBH2009
After this week I realised how much technology is behind our health. From computerised health records to alerts advising medical treatments. Which raises a question about privacy and security for patients. Has this changed your perspective on technology in health? #HSBH2009
In the tutorial today my group analysed and created an infographic which encouraged me to look through the perspective of a consumer. It made me appreciate the unconscious decisions my mind makes when it comes to attaining information. #HSBH2009
From some research on Telehealth , it was found that students tend to access Telehealth services the least. Could this just be because students have easy access to face to face services or something else? #HSBH2009
