@timeproofgames This level runs much better with the FastROM patch. That SNES hater—Proyecto Mega Drive/Allbundy/Tay/vrtay16bit, (same person)—claimed Mode 7 was to blame for the slowdown, but that’s a huge lie; the proof is right there, aside from the fact that the game wasn't well optimized.
@PixelCNinja It's nice, but according to Sega fanboys, the game is no good because it's in 256px resolution. I just want to understand why there's no Sega advertising talking about resolution if it's something so "important"?
@RetroGames_Hunt Great game, but the sound effects are very shrill and the music is too, plus the music sounds like buzzing bees (even though it has good composition). The game has a lot of slowdowns; if it were on the SNES, MD fanboys would say the CPU is slow, but on the Genesis they're silent.
@PixelCNinja Another Neo Geo game with several performance drops. Have you ever seen a Genesis fanboy saying that's why the Neo Geo is slow? Never. For them, it only matters if it's on the SNES and they ignore slowdowns on other consoles (including the Mega Drive itself).
@PixelCNinja Gunforce II, which is made by the same team that made Metal Slug, also has a lot of slowdown, but you don't see anyone saying that the Neo Geo that it has a weak CPU. Slowdown is only relevant when it's to attack the SNES, as if other platforms were exempt from slowdown.
@GameStalgiaX Yes, in the "level 5" stage, the SNES version has 3 layers of full-screen parallax compared to the Mega Drive's 2. For full-screen parallax, the SNES is superior to the Mega Drive because it has 1 more layer (mode 1) or 2 more layers (mode 0) than the Mega Drive.
@virtualmage17 This game has several slowdowns even when there's nothing on screen, and Genesis fanboys never complained about it, but if it were on the SNES... It's the famous hypocrisy. Is the Mega Drive's CPU slow? The bus? The DMA? The ARAM? Hypocrites.
