@JeffMarek Does the @NHL need a new Head of the Department at @NHLPlayerSafety after this season? Multiple headshots this playoffs with zero repercussion. Or is that more of an officiating issue, or lack there of, granted that there are less whistles as the playoffs go deeper? #Ask31
@markf0626@wyshynski@NHLPlayerSafety The Thornton hit was not a good hit either, deserved the suspension. I don't deny that, much like many people are doing in this case. The fact still is he hit Hertl in the head. And just because he didn't "destroy him" doesn't change that.π
@davetruman2 I have no problem with the initial hit on Pavelski, that was clean. It's the second after that where the decision is made to lift an elbow and target the head. I probably shouldn't have used that phrase, instead I should have said DELIBERATE elbow
@rtmelos @JoshsFuneral@KKurzNHL I'm not whining, and I never said anything about the refs being for or against us and I still stand by that quote so kiss my ass there. An elbow thrown IS A PENALTY in the NHL. I was amazed it wasn't called because it was so obvious.
@Dexters_Lab11@wyshynski@NHLPlayerSafety Or the delay of game penalty to Perron merely seconds before he score! Regardless, hand passes do not equate to headshots!!
@rickev50@KKurzNHL That reasoning is getting old as playoffs go on. Aside from the fact that no one would be complaining if any of it happened to their team, so hypocrites, and if the Sharks don't win none of those calls matter.Still doesn't change that I think in this case PLAYER SAFETY is a joke!
@rbundy84 @Selke37 @wyshynski@NHLPlayerSafety And if you're talking to me, I'm not complaining about the refs here, I'm complaining about @NHLPlayerSafety and what a joke they are regarding headshots in a time of concussion lawsuits. It's a joke! Makes me miss Shanahan there!
@LouRenning @wyshynski Regardless of what has happened, headshots should not be arguable, especially when there is a current concussion lawsuit. Blindside hits are the exact type of hit they're saying they want to "take out of the game." But it's the playoffs so rules go out the window all around!
@wyshynski I think Couture's assessment is an accurate one. Why wouldn't they continue to hit high when the league has clearly looked the other way at 2 head shots, similar to the one they already suspended Thornton for in the first round. @NHLPlayerSafety is a joke at this point!
@rbundy84@wyshynski@NHLPlayerSafety Your Twitter Bio says it all, no bigger idiot then you!! You can argue shoulder all you want, but that is textbook blindside hit that they supposedly wanted to "take out of the game" so most definitely should be penalized.
