@JoshHarrisX15 @ZacksJerryRig@buddy6buddy@Millertime981 Read the full sentence you quoted "steel/aluminum articles and autos/auto parts already subject to Section 232 tariffs"
the new reciprocal tariffs from last week don't apply, but the 25% blanket tariff applied to all aluminum imports last month still does.
@HairyScrambler@FrameworkPuter They've already shown it off and it's currently listed on their website. It's a standard mini-ITX formfactor and all the connectors are standard, so you can actually just buy the main board standalone and use an existing case and power supply if you wanted to.
@KarlJakober@FrameworkPuter Which is why they didn't go with a socketed CPU and RAM, it would basically just be a regular MiniITX machine at that point. Instead Framework brought AMD Strix Halo into a MiniITX form factor to make an AI machine, but did so in the most repairable and compatible way possible.
@KarlJakober@aaronmhamilton@FrameworkPuter 128GB of unified RAM on a 256bit bus at 8,000 MT/s connected to a decent AI APU is the special capability. You can't get a GPU with that much VRAM anywhere near this price range. Which makes it better for many LLMs than even a 5090.
@bramcrack3r @_Tom_Henderson_ It's Battleye. Valve states "BattlEye on Proton integration has reached a point where all a developer needs to do is reach out to BattlEye to enable it for their title. No additional work is required by the developer besides that communication."
But R* has chosen not to do that.
@Articus_2@Epaminombasx@carygolomb Plus you don't have to pay $60 a year just to play multiplayer on PC. That's something that is often overlooked in this debate. 8 years of that works out to an additional $480 over the life of a console.
@DumBeanr@NoMisZx@ViscoseOCE There are a couple ways to do it. One way is just use the right stick like you currently do and use the gyro for the fine aiming. Another is flick stick, where the direction you push the stick is the direction you'll aim. Pushing the stick down will rotate 180°, right 90°, etc.
@rodas_teran@JibbSmart That leak only suggested they were adding an accelerometer, not a gyroscope. And that leak also revealed a new "Lift to Wake" feature for the controller (which would need an accelerometer to work). So likely no gyro, people are just seeing what they want to see in the leak.
@qbert2030@GuliKitDesign Unlikely. Gulikit's design requires board mounted components. Switch, SteamDeck, and DSEdge are possible due to the stick being on its own board that gulikit can replace. Xbox and reg DS won't happen without a major redesign from Gulikit.
Other HE sticks are available though.
@jnightx They only sell replacements for devices which can be swapped with a screwdriver, Gulikit hasn't released replacements for any controller which needs soldering. Plus Gulikit's stick design requires PCB mounted components to work, so it goes beyond soldering in new stick modules
@jnightx@daniel_rollins@Viermalacht@GuliKitDesign They don't have it for Xbox. Only for Steam Deck and Joycons, both of which have the stick on separate boards connected by ribbon cable to the controller's main board. Any HE stick for Xbox or PS (besides DS Edge) will require desoldering the originals and soldering the new ones.
@Press_X_Fool@Dachsjaeger The hidden cost people don't think about is that over the life of the console your going to be spending around $600 on subscriptions just for online play ($80/year).

@KendrickFlinn@wcadkins@MKBHD Doesn't have to be connected to a phone (but like others it's better connected). It has Wifi, BT, GPS, Apps, Storage. I can download songs directly to it from Spotify and listen with BT headphones, I can do NFC payments, it has an always on AMOLED screen and lasts a week plus.
@JonSonix@Sierragulf1@StodehTV In WZ1 the arbitrary cutoff for 1 shot felt awful when you were fighting near the edge of the range (especially since all ARs could out TTK you with just leg shots).
I rather they just give it awful velocity at range to make landing headshots difficult beyond 50m, but possible.
@drgyroYt@JibbSmart I think something like Valorant is the best candidate. Established IP with no legacy controller player base.
Pushing Gyro hard will turn players off from trying a new IP and alienate players of existing controller IPs.
People will learn gyro though to play Valorant on console
@AbonziTV @MrProWestie@TomoTheTechie@Caliboy_12 What's an "average console" though, this game can be played on 10 yr old Xbox Ones. Playing on PS5 or Series X probably is an advantage over the average console.
There are like 4 different tiers of performance on console, and if you spend >$1,500 on a PC you reach a 5th tier.
@MrProWestie@BattleBitGame Pretty sure that yellow text says "PLAY FOR FREE" and the top line probably lists two dates (NOV ____ to ____), suggesting it is just a free weekend or something.
Though it could be NOV ___ 2023, which would be a big deal.
@bomboclatblyat@Harley1Davids0n@GuliKitDesign Gulikits current stick design requires additional components on the PCB itself, so making a PS5 solution is tough. The Edge will probably happen first, but the standard one is a ways off. Also it is probably low priority as needing soldering lowers the customer pool significantly
