Hi from Tallahassee, Florida! My specialty is African American History.
I support my students with SEL needs by first making sure that I am implementing their accomodations. I maintain open communication & I also let students know they can always take a moment.

I would reach out to Alex immediately since they are actively disengaged and retreated. I would try to find a moment where I can quietly check-in, but would not call them out in front others.
A3: I would try to understand the Trauma better. The only way that we can help Alex through the world of darkness is to help him be able to defeat what is blocking him from moving forward. #games4ed
A2: Other. I would throw Alex's belongings down the portal so that he would at least have something wherever he was headed. I would check to see if any other students were impacted as well. #games4ed
