I stopped taking advice from childless people.
Fitness. Productivity. Life advice. All of it.
And here's why:
It's not that they're wrong. It's that they're playing a completely different game.
Taking life advice from someone without kids is like getting marriage tips from a guy who's "really good at first dates."
Cool, bro. But you've never had to initiate the tough conversation and own your mistake just to keep the peace.
We're not in the same sport.
We've all seen some 25-year-old fitness influencer with non-negotiable 5am routine.
Wake up. Meditate. Journal. Cold plunge. 45-minute lift.
Sounds beautiful. You know what woke ME up at 5am last Tuesday?
A 3-year-old standing 3 inches from my face whispering, "Daddy, I frowed up."
There's no cold plunge for that. Just reality.
These people have optimized their lives around ONE variable: themselves.
I'm optimizing for:
→ A marriage that still thriving after 10 years
→ Kids who actually want to be around me
→ A career that provides for my family
→ A body that lets me keep up with all of it
That's a completely different goal and it requires a different formula.
Real discipline isn't waking up at 5am when your apartment is silent and your only responsibility is a houseplant.
It's a 10pm workout after the kids went to bed because your morning blew up showing up for your family when they needed you.
That's the game I'm playing.
Childless advice isn't just impractical. It's unrelatable.
Their goal: optimize for SELF.
My goal: optimize for FAMILY.
It's like a vegan telling me how to grill a steak.
You might technically know the steps. But I don't trust you with the tongs.
The best advice I've ever gotten came from parents in the trenches.
They don't talk about "optimizing morning routines."
They talk about:
• 20 push-ups while your kid eats breakfast
• Walking with your wife after dinner because it's the only time you'll get together
• Meal prepping Sunday because Tuesday night is a warzone
THAT'S advice that actually works.
So no, I'm not taking health advice from someone whose biggest inconvenience is their supplement stack being shipped late.
I want the guy who's been elbow-deep in a diaper blowout and STILL hitting their goals.
That's the guy who I'm listening to.
Find your people. Take their advice. Ignore the rest.
@infektolog Souhlas. Našemu je 19 měsíců, umí stovky slov. Od raného dětství byl hodně vokální. Čteme mu, furt na něj mluvíme. Doplňuje slova do více než 5 básniček (prší prší, pec nám spadla, atd.).
@AukeHoekstra How much oil, gas, or any other fossil fuels was produced to produce electricity for BEV? Otherwise this comparison does not make sense, or am I missing something? ;)
@Tesla Cybertruck is a disaster. :) And it is a disaster solely due to Elon. Extending range won't solve the main issues of cybertruck and that is that it looks like a trash bin on wheels. If only Tesla came up with NORMAL-looking pick-up, things might be different. ;)
@elonmusk Lol, you mean Vance and Trump damaged him severely, just as they intended? :-) They were just looking for justification to bail out of support. But sorry, Elon. America Trump is steering to will be very, but very weak in the international politics. Just a fact.
@michalpur Jestli vás tahle problematika zajímá třeba do podcastu vysoké napětí a hledáte někoho, kdo tomu opravdu rozumí (i legislativně), ozvěte se.
GeoConfirmed UKR - Misinformation by President Trump.
While we typically refrain from political commentary, President Donald Trump's recent statement regarding the war in Ukraine is so egregious that we feel compelled to respond.
Several claims made by President Trump have already been debunked. We've included responses from Grok AI for each claim, demonstrating that even Grok refutes the misinformation spread by the president.
In this thread, we will provide geolocated footage as a reminder to everyone that Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, marking the beginning of this war.
1)
The United States has not spent $350 billion on this war, nor has it outspent Europe by $200 billion. In fact, European contributions have surpassed those of the US. Moreover, a significant portion of the American military aid (around 90% !) is spend in the US, reinvesting in the US economy.

President Zelensky did not claim that half the American money sent to Ukraine is "missing". He stated that half of the promised funds had not been received, which is a crucial distinction.

Ukrainian constitution prohibits elections during wartime, a measure designed to protect the democratic process from foreign interference, particularly given Russia's known capabilities in this area...

President Zelensky is not a dictator, as evidenced by Ukraine's constitutional framework and his commitment to holding elections once hostilities cease. In contrast, it's worth noting that President Putin consistently wins elections in Russia with implausibly high percentages of votes, with opposition that 'falls out of windows", is poisened or jailed, raising questions about the true nature of Russia's electoral process.

President Zelensky has a approval rate above 50% and not 4%. 4% is Russian disinformation.

There was no NATO expansion to the East, as NATO itself cannot expand. Instead, democratic countries independently decide whether they want to become members of the alliance. The process of joining NATO is voluntary and involves multiple steps, including meeting specific requirements and completing a formal application process.
The fact that many of Russia's former neighbors have chosen to seek NATO membership speaks volumes about their perception of Russia and their desire for collective security.
The decision of these nations to pursue NATO membership reflects their sovereign right to determine their own foreign policy and security arrangements. It also indicates a preference for the stability and security guarantees that NATO membership offers, rather than remaining under Russian influence.
Regarding the famous 'promise':
Article 103 of the UN Charter establishes a clear hierarchy in international law. It states that obligations under the UN Charter prevail over obligations under any other international agreement in case of conflict. This supremacy extends beyond just treaties, as it is generally understood to also apply to customary international law.
The hierarchy can be summarized as follows:
1) UN Charter obligations
2) Other treaties and customary international law
3) Non-treaty international texts
4) Political promises or commitments
5) Historical claims
Russia's invasion of Ukraine clearly violates fundamental principles of the UN Charter, including the prohibition on the use of force against the territorial integrity of another state. Any attempts to justify this action based on lower-ranking considerations like political promises or historical claims are legally irrelevant.

Nevolený eurokomisař zavrhuje změny směrnice RED a důvod? Úsměvné a vypovídající o realitě naší technokratické EU. ☺️ 😩 Potřebujeme nový Lisabon. Osobně bych reformoval hlavně Evropskou komisi.
In front of the press after the Energy Council, @DanJoergensen said "no" to mixing RES and Nuclear in a target. "I don't think that would be a wise way to dot it. I think we need to maintain the definition that we already have in our renewable target when making a new target"

@energybants FFS. Ideology really hurts. So sad. Would be laughable, if Germans would not threaten whole Europe with their stupid energy policy (due to interconnection of us all). We should all have say in their energy policy.
@gnievchenko Well, you are right, however in order to fulfill them, someone has to buy your BEVs which makes this issue much more complicated. And to the second point, I don't agree, its up to companies themselves where they redirect them. - These are still their hard-earned money -
