The rest of the world copes about America being the dominant nation by making sweeping statements about all Americans. Of course, if any such statement was made broadly about any other nationality, foreigners would be crying "ignorant American." As it is, the world is lucky that soccer is so far down the list of popular sports in the US, as the only way the US isn't the best or near the best at a sport, is if other countries care 10000x more about the sport.

Europe and Canada have leeched off the US for 80 years. Without US military aid, Ukraine would have capitulated in 2022 and Europe would have been screwed. Europeans don't like being called out for their leeching, the US dollar is still the world's reserve currency, and the countries that have shown themselves to be leeches will have even less influence in the world in the coming years and decades
