@JohnKingCNN: "A lot of Democrats who love Kamala Harris, voted for Kamala Harris, say, 'We can't do that again because we can't elect a woman and we can't elect a woman of colour.' That conversation changed last night.
The state of Georgia elected an African-American woman to be governor. The state of Texas elected a Latina to be governor.
The conversations in [Harris'] camp about 'Can we do this?' are a lot different today than they were 48 hours ago."
Here Colom is admitting the days before the election that Kamala Harris was brought to campaign for him to get his black voting metrics up and to get attention on rural hospitals.
This has nothing to do with DSA.
"Some Democrats have just basically said, 'Oh, that's nice if you wanna do some work in the South, but we can't win the South, therefore we will not put the resources into it.' That's a huge mistake… and if we're going to be a party that cares about all the people, we have to put the resources into speaking with them and most importantly, first and foremost, listening."

Last night Trump said he could have won Vietnam in a week. His plan was “going after Ho Chi Minh City.”
Ho Chi Minh City was Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Our ally. The enemy’s capital was Hanoi. We bombed it.
He called the presidents who fought that war stupid, then explained how he’d have won it by attacking our own side.
58,220 Americans died in that war. Trump got five deferments. Now he’s telling the rest of us how easy it would have been.
He’s had more than fifty years to learn which side we were on. He still hasn’t. That alone should disqualify him from sending anybody else’s kids to war.
Instead, he’s weighing more strikes on Iran after Tuesday. His administration has reportedly considered using the “mother of all bombs,” the one he calls “like a tiny nuclear bomb.”
The man who thinks we should have bombed our ally’s capital gets to choose the targets.
BREAKING: Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) is in the hospital after a stroke. There's no word yet on his condition.
Hoping for the best. Murphy is an incredible man and great Senator.
A 3-year-old boy was kidnapped from a public library, and less than an hour later, he was sitting on a city bus beside the man who had taken him. The little boy was crying, and the other passengers had no idea he had been abducted. But when the bus driver looked at the child, he suddenly realized he matched the description of a missing boy police were desperately searching for.
It happened in Milpitas, California. Bus driver Tim Watson had heard the police alert about a missing 3-year-old boy earlier that day. When a man boarded his bus with a crying child, something didn’t seem right. The more Tim looked at the little boy, the more he suspected he was the child everyone was searching for.
But Tim couldn’t risk confronting the man. If he was the kidnapper, one wrong move could put the little boy in even greater danger. So Tim came up with a clever plan. He announced to the passengers that someone had reported a missing green backpack and began walking through the bus, pretending to search for it.
As he moved past the man and child, Tim got a closer look and confirmed his suspicions. He quietly contacted dispatch to alert police, then returned to his seat and continued driving as though nothing had happened. All the while, the suspected kidnapper remained on board, completely unaware that the driver had recognized the child.
Tim kept his composure until police were able to intercept the bus. Officers rushed aboard, arrested the suspect, and brought the little boy to safety. Thanks to one observant bus driver who refused to ignore his instincts, a terrifying kidnapping ended with a child being returned to his family.
Tim Watson wasn’t a police officer or a trained rescuer. He was simply a bus driver who recognized a child in danger and found a way to save him without putting him at greater risk. Let’s give this incredible man the recognition he deserves.
