Ahmedabad Railway Station Redevelopment – Work in Progress

Redevelopment work at Ahmedabad Railway Station is progressing round the clock (24×7), with utmost attention to safety and passenger convenience.

Recently, major works on Platforms 8 and 9 were completed, including foundation, concourse and structural activities. Temporary arrangements ensured smooth passenger movement during this phase.

The project, being executed by RLDA, continues to move forward towards creating a modern, efficient and passenger-friendly railway station.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, today visited the newly developed Yatri Suvidha Kendra (Holding Area) at New Delhi Railway Station. She was accompanied by dignitaries and senior officials, including Sh. Manoj Tiwari (MP/Lok Sabha), Sh. Ashok Kumar Verma (GM/NR), Sh. Manoj Garg (VC/RLDA), Sh. Pushpesh Raman Tripathi (DRM/NR - Delhi Division), and Sh. D.K Singh (CPM, RLDA – New Delhi).

The officers of Indian Railways briefed her about the dedicated facility, developed by RLDA for Northern Railway to ensure smoother passenger movement, enhanced convenience, and improved crowd management for lakhs of travellers moving in and out of the capital city.

Key Amenities at the New Holding Area:
* 22 Ticket Counters for streamlined ticketing operations
* 25 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) for quick, contactless ticket issuance
* 24 Speakers under the Passenger Announcement System for real-time updates
* 18 CCTV Cameras for continuous security surveillance
* 150 Seating Capacity for comfortable waiting
* Dedicated Toilet Blocks with 29 WCs for Women, 15 WCs & 105 Urinals for Men, and 1 WC for Divyangjan

This initiative underscores Indian Railways and RLDA’s commitment to improve passenger amenities, enhancing safety, and ensuring a seamless, modern travel experience.

She appreciated the initiative and commended the swift execution of the project ahead of the festive season and Diwali.
