Literacy is transforming lives across India!
All States and UTs are implementing ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram, thereby strengthening the nation's commitment to lifelong learning and inclusive education.
As on date, 9 States/UTs have achieved full literacy, while more than 3 crore learners have appeared in the Literacy Test, marking significant progress towards a fully literate India.

As a lead-up to World Environment Day 2026, a virtual meeting was chaired by Shri @sanjayjavin, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education on 4th June 2026, to sensitise representatives from States and UTs on the implementation of Green Summer Camps and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0 under the aegis of Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE. The Secretary emphasised the importance of environmental awareness and the need to adopt sustainable lifestyle among students, highlighting the critical role of schools in nurturing environmentally responsible behaviour. He encouraged States and UTs to leverage Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE as a platform to promote conservation of resources and active participation in environmental initiatives.
Dr. Amarpreet Duggal, Joint Secretary, DoSEL, delivered an in-depth presentation highlighting the importance of promoting environmental awareness among school students through activities aligned with the seven themes of Mission LiFE and encouraged States and UTs to facilitate active participation of schools in the campaign.
States/UTs were urged to ensure saturation of Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE in schools of all managements across the country.

Coinciding with the plantation season across diverse agro-climatic regions of the country, this nationwide tree-plantation campaign seeks to strengthen environmental stewardship among school students while fostering a deep sense of responsibility towards nature.

As part of the National Award Ceremony of School Challenge–TOFEI 2025 and Launch of the #NashaMuktVidyalaya Three-YearAction Plan, an engaging panel discussion was organised on “Nurturing Resilient and Empowered Youth: Mental Health Promotion and Tobacco & Drug-Free Campuses”.
The discussion was moderated by Ms.Anusree Raha, Deputy Secretary, DoSEL and featured eminent panelists Dr. RajeshSagar, Head,Department of Psychiatry,AIIMS, Dr.Anjali Chhabra, Additional Director,CBSE and Shri Nikhil Kant, Deputy Director, AICTE.
The session emphasised the importance of mental well-being, preventive education and institutional support systems in creating safe, inclusive and substance-free educational environments for students across the country. It also highlighted the crucial role of teachers and parents in empathetically acknowledging students’ concerns, identifying early signs of mental health issues and appropriately handling such situations with care, sensitivity and support.

The On-Screen Marking (OSM) to evaluate CBSE Class XII Examination 2026 results is a digital evaluation system designed to improve accuracy, transparency and efficiency in the assessment of answer scripts. It enables scanned answer books to be evaluated online by trained examiners, ensuring consistency with the marking scheme and reducing human error in totalling and tabulation.
OSM strengthens objectivity in evaluation by focusing on conceptual understanding rather than just final answers.
