@zackstiles@NavyStrang Japan, france and spain are not the uk, arguably the French and Japanese cv/cvn have a higher surface availability than USN CVN's
@USAMaritimeX Sure, there's a reason the us navy didn't want to build the flt3 burkes they couldn't get the capability they wanted in the package and had to downgrade sensors, there wasn't enough margin on the 2a's.
to stay relevant you have to evolve the concept a bigger burke isn't that
@trevorlahey2001@RealAirPower1 Not the point, they would use them for drone defense anyways which they would be good at, it's just not worth it for 22 airframes where there never going to get any more
@Panzerargentus but why... what does the a-10 bring that the super Tucano doesn't bring to coin ops, a higher maintenance cost, lower loiter time, higher operational costs, weapons that are overkill for everything youll face and much more costly.
the us probably will replace the a10 with tucano
@OfAthenry depends on what you mean by 'real war stuff' if you mean cruise missiles, ballistic missile strikes stealth fighter sorites bunker buster from stealth bombers stuff like that... well we did all that to iran and were still at war soooooo.
take what you want from that ig
@F15sRdaBest also remember the super hornet is mature...now but was an absolute dumpster fire on introduction (that arguably should have been canceled) was not delivered in contract quantity on time and some issues that were mentioned in GAO reports in the 90s were not improved until 2020.
@F15sRdaBest it's not, the pod and tgp were already integrated on the f-15, literally all they had to do was put them on the plane
Tgp's were able to track aerial targets already and apkws had been used in training against cruise missiles before COVID.
Tbh it took the us way to many years
@napoleon21st Depends, Europe is rapidly expanding arsenal depth in its rearmament and is currently on a peace time military build up not the war economy production rates the Russians are bankrupting themsleves to continue
@kimlikci_954@Gutslamenace@Adamfake99 It's almost like there's some sort of calculus that goes into the use of nuclear weapons... A line of some sort... Well it's clearly farther along than the bombing of strategic military and civilian industry. See Ukraine
@kimlikci_954 You ever notice how the response against NATO is always 'the west will tremble in the face of our nuclear weapons' or something similar.
It just confirmes that Russia has fallen so far that they don't even consider their conventional army equivalent to NATO.
@HLC_actual That aircraft get damaged in war isn't the problem they will get replaced.
The problem is these lessons that could have been learned 4 years ago and ever since, the Pentagon wants to learn the hard way with with our service members lives and millions of taxpayer dollars.
@MenchOsint Disregarding the fact the Russia hasnt 'taken the gloves off' over much worse before (hint the gloves came off on Feb 24 2022) it won't chance anything there not going to shoot less ballistics at Ukraine, they were going to hit Ukraine anyway, so why does it matter?
@ManFromPense@GunGnome To be fair, the us and China are also buying 70s designs with no stealth in 2026.
Also the gripen has a larger combat range than the f35a which I don't know if you know this but also only has 1 engine.
