We made it! Today marks the end of our incredible journey through Kenya with Stella Juva ☀️🇰🇪!

On our final drive through Kenya’s beautiful landscapes, we ended right at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro 🏔️🌅.

Today’s route took Stella Juva from Narok to Kajiado, marking the first stage of our journey towards Mount Kilimanjaro. 🏔️

The drive tested both endurance and efficiency as we navigated mountain highways, busy towns, and long climbs and descents.

Today Stella Juva faced her toughest test yet. To reach a remote dispensary in Mosiro, our solar powered ambulance had to drive three hours from the nearest town, entirely over rough off road terrain.

Today we held our first simulation day with Amref Health Africa, gathering data on Stella Juva’s effectiveness.

We also demonstrated the vehicle to local healthcare workers to gather feedback on its features and capabilities.

Today's route took Stella Juva from Naivasha to Narok, and this day brought a completely new challenge: the highway.

Driving efficiently on highways means constantly balancing speed with safety.

In the end we arrived in Narok ahead of schedule.

First offroad metres in Kenya! 🇰🇪 🪨

Today, we tested the offroad capabilities of Stella Juva around lake Naivasha 🏞️. Although the offroad conditions were harsh at times, Stella Juva worked perfectly, we even spotted some giraffes next to the roads!🦒

Stella Juva hit the road! 🛣️

We set off from Amref International University for our first day on Kenya’s roads.

We drove through the Kenyan tea fields and arrived at Lake Naivasha. The weather was not what we hoped for.

Pioneering doesn’t always go to plan. 🔧

A week before our first RDW test, our custom windscreen cracked. With no time for a replacement, we reworked Stella Juva’s frame to fit an existing window.

A small change, but one that mattered for aerodynamics. We passed the test.

🎉 Big news: Stella Juva is officially road-legal!

On 29 July, the Dutch Vehicle Authority approved Stella Juva. That means the world's first solar-powered ambulance is now officially allowed to drive on public roads.
