@GodsKitchenofMI is serving a free steak and lobster tail dinner on Tuesday, December 21st, for the Striking Kellogg's Workers. Open to all BCTGM union members.
Just a day after the Board rewarded him with a $75k bonus, our message couldn’t be clearer: This president has repeatedly failed to meet the challenges our university faces. @MLive@AAUP@wmuk1021@WesternMichU@WesternHerald@wwmtnews @AFSCME1668 @wsawmu

I tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. I am symptomatic. I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I was isolated alone for over a year before being vaccinated because I am severely immunocompromised. I am scared and furious.
Let’s make one thing clear — this is not a pandemic of the unvaccinated. I went without human touch for 412 days while others rationalized their reckless actions. This was the inevitable outcome of living in a society that sees people with disabilities as entirely disposable.
@edwardschad Thank you @edwardschad!

@Dcollier74 We literally had to start this fund last year to provide emergency support for student workers & staff who got kicked to the curb by dude getting $493K/year + $75K bonus. Maybe the Board of Trustees could pretend to care about effects of increasing cost of living on them??
There’s so much more that could’ve been done with 75k like idk, giving it to those students with low retention rates. You wonder why students aren’t graduating? They have little to no money to move throughout their collegiate career. Speaking for Black and Brown scholars.
Thomas Fisher President of TAU: people are being told wmu is in a financial emergency but cash is being shelled out on union busting firms, other measures and a potential raise for the president
Would send clear message: ‘there’s no financial emergency, just a values emergency’
You can see the text of President LaBine’s passionate address to the board of trustees regarding WMU president Ed Montgomery’s large bonus and retroactive raise below 1/2
"Jasmine LaBine president of @PIOatWMU said trustees are sending the wrong message investing money in “one person” instead of “the hundreds of people that have worked hard to keep this university going through a really difficult time”
